  • I am also impressed that you actually prefer to whine about how pointless this policy is, instead of just changing it. But now I have a deeper look at it, I guess I might know why that is: signing on this page was your ninth edit since the 2012 spring confirmation round. You've been left in peace to actually work on improving Commons, but I haven't seen you around lately: is this how you improve this project?     • Not entirely sure how having an admin with no deletions in a year [but the potential to perform them] is worse than having a non-admin with no deletions in a year [and no potential at all]. My mere existence improves Commons. But, y'all made your decision, I obviously am too lazy to go through the motions of changing it but you can be damn sure I'll bitch about it.         • Because I'm here to do something if needed. At any given moment, most admins are doing nothing, and by your definition are useless. Yet if they see something happen and can fix it, then for a fleeting moment they are not useless. Basically, you're saying a standing army is useless. Admins are your standing army. Unless you have no need for a standing army then perhaps you shouldn't denigrate it. You don't know what admin actions I will perform tomorrow, and I have no need to justify myself to you based on what may or may not call my attention. Better to have a thousand admins doing nothing than no admins doing nothing, because you don't know what you will need in the next moment. If the problem is that commons has a glut of admins, what symptoms betray this, and is it even a bad thing to begin with? --Golbez (talk) 17:09, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
