THE TOKAMAK FUSION TEST REACTOR (TFTR). TFTR WILL BE 1ST FUSION EXPERIMENT TO USE TRITIUM, RADIO- ACTIVE ISOTOPE OF HYDROGEN. TRITIUM WILL BE STORED IN SOLID FORM IN 3 THICK-WALLED STEEL CYLINDERS WITHIN TRITIUM STORAGE DELIVERY GLOVEBOX. WHEN NEEDED FOR MACHINE PULSE, TRITIUM GAS WILL BE GENERATED BY ELECTRICALLY HEATING SOLID TO A TEMPERATURE 300-400 DEGREES CENTIGRADE.
