No freedom of panorama in Jordan A1Cafel (talk) 06:48, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

@A1Cafel: , why does this break freedom of panorama? you guys are not leaving any of our persona; photos, which aim at enriching the content. --Mervat (talk) 18:57, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
@Mervat: first of all, the freedom of panorama refers to a provision in copyright laws in several countries (yes, not all countries have FOP provisions, including Jordan) that allows commercial photography and/or commercial publications/reuses of photos of buildings, sculptures, and other artworks made by people (the creators) who are either still alive or have died for not less than 50 years (in the Philippines case, I don't know the copyright duration of Jordan). The principle of copyright of structures and artworks says that the side of the creators have exclusive rights on governing the reproductions, and the Berne Convention includes photos as among the reproductions; i.e., photos of buildings and other "artworks" (buildings are included in the convention as among the artistic works deserving copyright protection). In certain countries where FOP doesn't apply like Denmark (FOP only applies to buildings) and France (no FOP at all), the creators or their heirs are usually litigous.
Commons requires FOP since the licensing policy mandates that all educational files be freely-reusable by anyone in the world, even for commercial purposes. The current statement at Commons:FOP Jordan indicates it is not OK to reproduce copyrighted works (including works of architecture and sculpture) unless those "copies" (e.g. photos) are to be used only for "private, personal, and educational purposes." No statement regarding free, unrestricted, and commercial reuses of copies of copyrighted works. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 04:50, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
