Summary
| Description |
English: The chapel of Saint Demetrius of the Guns in Kato Patisia, Athens. Its name is a reference to an event that took place just before the start of the 1821 Revolution in Athens, when Hajimeletis and his men were sleeping in the temple, armed from the local voevoda when they heard a voice telling them to take the guns, and so they left before the voevoda could take back the guns. A new, large temple was built next to the chapel in 1976-1981. |
