File:Domain decomposition and process communication.svg
Summary
| Description |
English: In high-performance computing, domain decomposition can be used to parallelize computations. A larger domain can be split into multiple smaller domains, each of which can be solved separately. A separate process can be assigned to solve each of the subdomains, but in order to produce a solution to the larger problem, communication between process boundaries is required. |
