New pictures 2025

Yay - new pictures XD. I explained the reasons for my contributions in 2011 when I created my account - you can read the long version now at the end of this page. In short - there are few pictures of genitals with good quality available and some used in wikipedia articles look rather scary for youngsters. In my opinion the acceptable ones might stay in the commons to show variety but the ugly ones should be removed from the articles.

Thanks to a user request to document effects of ageing I was comitted to upload a new series of pictures.

My personal reason for the new series were not so much the visible changes (there are only a few - see below). I was never fully satisfied with the old pictures and probably will never be fully satisfied (lol), however I do have now better equipment available (newer digital camera and, more important, a better monitor - color correction of skin tones is really difficult, pictures get easily to reddish or to yellowish or whatever).

Some general remarks on the differences between the ages of approx. 30 and 45 years:

Visible changes

  • At around the age of 40 the skin starts to change, getting drier and thinner over time and gradually (over decades) „wrinkly“. You can see the beginning of this process on the pictures where the skin is very loose. On very dry skin which is sensitive to skin abrasion the pigmentation may look less regular and smooth. On some of the pictures this is visible close-up at full resolution.
  • The skin getting thinner has another effect - the veins are slightly more prominent when the genitals are flaccid. I took the pictures in summer at hot temperatures, so they were relatively dilated and blood-filled. You see it on some of the pictures.
  • In the area of the scrotum next to the perineum the veins in the skin are more visible now than 15 years ago, so it looks less regular and smooth. Some small „dots“ were caused by minor skin abrasions and bleeding when shaving the scrotum, which happens once in a while, but most were natural changes over time. Anyway, this part of the skin is hardly ever visible to anybody.
  • The other visible effect is somewhat less pubic hair, and it gradually starts getting lighter (not yet very grayish, though). As my pubic hair is always trimmed now I wasn`t aware of it, I only noticed it when comparing the picture with pubic hair up to the belly button with the ones of 15 years ago. I never was very hairy, I guess if I let the pubic hair grow again you would not see much difference, except along the thin line up to the belly button.
  • Over time, the angle of the penis showing upwards when fully erect may decrease, that`s very common for males. So far I don`t experience any differences, probably because I am still as slim as I was 15 years ago. You can`t really see and compare this on the images, because the impression depends very much on the position of the camera and I didn`t upload the photos with the steepest angles, but the ones which are relatively sharp and overall the best ones.

Non-visible changes

  • It was very surprising to me, but maintaining a hard-on while taking pictures turned out to be more difficult than 15 years ago. I didn`t expect it because in other circumstances I notice no differences when the penis is aroused (in the sense that it doesn`t turn to the flaccid state easily once it is erect). On the other hand, most young males aged 12-25 have „random“ erections without any cause very frequently, and are glad when this becomes more seldom. With 40+ many males don`t experience anymore any random erections, in my case it has become rare.
  • During ejaculation, the seminal fluid doesn`t anymore shoot as far as it did in the past. When I was younger, this varied widely from „dropping out“ to approx. one meter in some cases (only when standing…), but most of the times it were 10-30 cms. Nowadays it`s never much more than 10 cms, and that`s common for higher ages. As far as I read, the reason is not less pressure, but the urethra within the penis widening over time. That explanation convinces me, I sense contractions during ejaculation still as intense as in the past. If someone knows more about this you might leave a comment.
  • The amount of seminal fluid may decrease over time, but it varies anyway noticeably from one time to another.

That`s the changes for me… if I notice something else I will add it.

I never uploaded a picture with the specific intention of showing the whole body area with pubic hair, but after usage of HQ_SAM_F.JPG in a Wikipedia article for that purpose I added a version which shows a little bit more of the belly. I don't believe this upload could possibly be useful for Wikipedia articles, but the pictures and the description might stay on the Wikimedia Commons for people seeking information.


  • Pre-ejaculate / Precum / Cowper's fluid
This picture was an unintentional, accidental by-product of the foto shooting, but it might be good to know for young people that the liquid is clear and nevertheless may contain sperms (to help preventing unwanted pregnancies).


  • Semi-erect penis
I'm not too sure about the usefulness of these... as you can see the penis first grows in length and girth, then it starts erecting.

Penis notes

Size has never been a matter for me, really - probably because I always have been confident about my "normality". In the Commons guidelines (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Nudity) people are asked to give some information, though, and for many users size seems to matter (see also the question on my talk page "Personally I would like to ask the specified sizes, length and width. Is this an average size?").

Therefore once and for all:

1. The pictures show the genitalia of a Southern-European male, aged 30 years at the time of shooting (31 now...)
  • Penis length: flaccid approx. 9.5 cm = 3.7 in, erect approx. 16.3 cm = 6.4 in, measured upside
  • Penis width: flaccid approx. 3 cm = 1.2 in , erect approx. 3.8 cm = 1.5 in
  • Penis circumference: flaccid approx. 9.5 cm = 3.7 in, erect approx. 12.3 cm = 4.8 in
  • Compared with data on several Wikipedia pages, the circumference/width is very close to the average value in Southern Europe, the length slightly above the average (median) value in Southern Europe (approx. 70% are shorter, 30% longer, "normal" erect range 7-21 cm). Average values in other world regions differ significantly.
2. As measurement of size isn’t that easy and exact, I calculated the values for my penis the following way:
  • flaccid penis: average length and circumference of a few measurements with the penis held horizontally (variations of length and circumference between 9 and 10 cm, hanging down it usually is or seems somewhat longer; width was calculated)
  • erect penis: smallest length of a few measurements (variations up to 16.7 cm), average circumference of a few measurements on different points of the shaft (variations between 12 and 12.5 cm), width is a calculation.

I tried to take pictures of the flaccid and erect penis with a ruler, but was not satisfied with the picture quality so you just have to trust me... and I hope there are no questions left.

Reasons for uploads 2011-2014

  • Short version:

The pictures uploaded with this "nick" are just meant as a replacement for the pictures in the categories of the "human male reproduction system" marked as blurry / low quality and for the ugly stuff there. I personally would delete 90% of all pictures in these categories for the sake of our children/teenagers. And if the Community doesn't consider my uploads as educational enough they may be deleted as well. Comments welcome.

  • Long version:

When I was a teenager with growing interest into the human body and the reproduction system the internet didn't yet offer reliable information sources, so books were still the media of choice. I probably would never have read about these topics in the wikipedia if there hadn't been an article about the female genitalia the article of the day a few years ago (i don't remember in which language version, however it led to a discussion by that time). That day I found out that a surprisingly high number of pictures on the genitalia were already available on the wikimedia pages - however I had the impression that most of them were bad quality stuff (blurry, heavily under- or overexposed, strange perspectives...) and many simply ugly. Now, some years later, I noticed that this situation has not yet really changed. That's why I spontaneously decided to upload a few pictures myself. (I would never have had the courage a few years ago!)

I personally believe it is helpful that teenagers and young adults may find lots of pictures on the human genitalia in the wikimedia. They may read that there is a wide variety of "normality", but they won't really believe it or still feel unhappy and unsecure about themselves - so a high number of pictures may help to comfort them. This is especially true for young men... as most people won't consider the male genitalia as aesthetic (beauty has to do with symmetry, and they are anything but symmetric!). On the other hand, there is no need to scare young people with lots of ugly pictures and I believe that many could or should be deleted.

I hope my pictures do meet the wikimedia standards and are regarded as useful by the Community. I won't link them myself to any pages, and if the Community doesn't consider them as educational enough they may be deleted.

Comments welcome. I regard this "project" as completed, no further uploads planned so far in these categories. (Some are still lacking quality and might be replaced. Update: 2025 - new additions and some replacements.)

Image notes

First I had the intention to upload only pictures without flashlight to avoid dark shadows and get best color fidelity of skin tones and pubic hair, which is really difficult using non-professional lighting. I was quite satisfied with the results, but the thumbs turned out to look darker than expected. Therefore I uploaded some more pictures with shaved genitalia and using the camera flashlight. Update 2025 - the new pictures were all made without flashlight (with a newer digital camera). They are in many cases not as sharp as the ones with flashlight, but I think they are good enough for usage.

Obsolete pictures

I consider these pictures as obsolete, they may be deleted - but uploaders shouldn`t initate a deletion request by themselves so I leave the decision to the community.
