Beginners mistake

I red that you are an administrator, and I wonder if you could delete the image “Image:Södertälje logotyp.jpg”. The image qualifies as fair use, and I was unaware that commons didn’t accept material under that licensing. //Laserpekare 12:54, 22 May 2005 (UTC)

I'm still confused. How do I, myself, add catagories and sub-catagories? There seem to be no "edit" on the category pages.

Please help replace this outdated license

Thank you for donating images to the Wikimedia Commons. You have uploaded some images in the past with the license {{PD}}. While this was a license acceptable in the early days of Wikimedia, since January 2006, this license has been deprecated and since October 2008 no new uploads with this license was allowed.

The license on older images should be replaced with a better and more specific license/permissions and you can help by checking the images and adding {{PD-self}} if you are the author or one of the other templates that you can see in the template on the image page.

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

thanks for messaging me about this. so this was a small batch that was part of my Bot proposal. you can read my justification and argument for it. The very idea of NSFW is blurry which is why it's so difficult to discuss. but generally I am thinking of these tags as "suggestive of NSFW" but not conclusive. Something I've not seen in your results, is the bot attempting to identify material which whilst not nude, is still not safe for work (such as BDSM imagery for example, which can have fully clothed individuals). Most of those do not show actual BDSM - File:CSD 2006 Cologne BDSM 06.jpg is a topless woman kissing, yet gets flagged by one of the models - Whereas some of the items in Category:Black and white photographs of people in stockings and bondage should be getting tagged, even if the models are not technically nude. To be fair some of the Irving Klaw originated items are a good test case, for flagging bondage and BDSM themes. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 00:07, 20 June 2026 (UTC)

it got flagged by both models. it doesn't color the second model's output properly. i'm not sure which you think should be tagged that don't feature nudity. If you wanna give me a category I can run a few from there through. i don't know if focusing on BDSM so much is helpful. does it represent a large fraction of NSFW content here?
