No modifications is against Commons policy, which states that anybody must be allowed to edit the image in anyway. Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Map ERROR

World Map FIFA2.svg contains an error in geography. The right most pink CONCACAF "nation" on the north coast of South America is not colored correctly. This is most emphatically not a nation, but is rather an integral part of France. It is as much a part of France as Isla Cozumel is part of Mexico. It does not matter that it is separated from the rest of France by 2000 km of water. The distance over water does not matter. Hawaii is part of the United Stated in the same way and it is 3,200 km from the rest of the country.

Hello. Few months ago you uploaded a newer version of the file. The problem is that you changed the dimensions from 1837×954 to 1117×512. On Hebrew Wikipedia, and on some other Wikipedias such as the German, we use this file on Image Map of Sweden, and it doesn't work with the new dimensions. All the other maps of Sweden use 1837×954. Wikimedia Commons is pleased to finally announce the winners of this year's Picture of the Year 2025 contest! We had some truly incredible finalists to choose from, but the community has spoken.

I also want to highlight what an incredible turnout we had. In the second round, we saw a massive jump in both the number of users voting and the total votes cast. We had exactly 13,979 votes cast by 3,509 users! To put that in perspective, last year we had 7,403 votes from 2,837 users. It is amazing to see that level of growth and community engagement.

Thank you to everyone who voted, helped organize, and generally made the contest such a huge success this year!
