I'm not a copyright lawyer or an expert on "conflictof laws" but I think enquiries need to be made . The country of creation is Turkey,if indedde it is a picture taken in Izmir. If it was taken in Greece but was first developed in Greece or UK it would probably not matter, but in any case the law is probably the same according to ther page on copyright.So if the photographer was twenty when it was take and if he or she lived to be a hundred it would not expire until 2069 under the present law,but what was the period in 1919 I have an idea the period in 1919 in Britain was a life plus 50 years so it might have expired in 1969.Does this help? PD-RusEmpire requires publication during that time and while there's no proof for publication provided I'd still assume that the photo was published in the time of the Russian Empire due to the image caption being typed rather than just a hand-written note, and due to the image caption being written in pre-1918 spelling. This indicates that it probably got published in a newspaper / magazine / book of the time, and was not just taken from a family archive. Everything is so convoluted. I would simply request that the material be removed. I am in possession of the original physical photograph, bearing period annotations on the reverse, and I believed it to be a unique copy.
I later became aware that I did not hold the relevant rights after reading a note on the invoice for another photograph purchased approximately one month ago, published as a file titled “Raffaele Bendandi (1930).jpg.”
At the Raffaele Bendandi House Museum in Faenza, there is a very similar photograph, most likely taken on the same day.
I had no intention of creating complications; since 2010, I have been exclusively devoted to the study of Raffaele Bendandi’s spreadsheets, which is my sole area of interest.
How should I proceed at this point?

Ho acquistato la foto fisica e non ho letto sulla fattura la nota che diceva che acquistadola non avrei acquisito i diritti per pubblicarla in rete.
Io pensavo fosse un pezzo unico , dato che ha incollato dietro un cartoncino dell'epoca scritto a macchina da scrivere.
Inoltre la stessa IDENTICA foto, ma di dimensioni ridotte, è fisicamente incollata in ogni libro "Un principio fondamentale dell'Universo". La stessa identica, per cui ho pensato che fosse una foto di proprietà di Raffaele Bendandi e qundi dell'Osservatorio/Casa Museo.
Una foto molto molto simile ma che lo ritrae fino alle ginocchia , sembra scattata lo stesso giorno, è presente nella casa museo di Faenza di Raffaele Bendandi, che io frequento dal 2010.
Vorrei solo che venisse cancellata. Mi dedico allo studio dei fogli di calcolo di Raffaele Bendandi dal 2010 a titolo gratuito. Non ho mai percepito nulla da questo interesse. In the first link on my Google Drive, you can see the same portrait inside the first volume of Bendandi. It appears in all copies of Bendandi’s volume. It is not fake and was not added later; this can be verified. The volume should be available at the Library of Congress in the United States since the 1930s. I purchased this volume many years ago from a street bookseller in the main square of Forlì. The second link shows Bendandi’s copyright on the book.

The "odd edit" done was a file renaming request, but delinker didn't even change the redirect. This user Boston Mayflower is abusing file renaming and requesting deletion of all good redirects. Those are not inappropriate and should be preserved. heylenny (talk/edits) 21:36, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
 Comment, redirects should not be deleted; they are created for a reason. Remember: Filenames are not only intended for Wikimedia projects, but are also used outside of Wikipedia on external sites over which we have no control. There is no freedom of panorama in Russia for sculpture and probably the photo violates sculptor's copyright. This is 1955 sculpture and protected with copyright in USA until 2051 (95+1 years from publication). One of the sculptors ru:Орлов, Сергей Михайлович died in 1971 and his art is copyrighted in Russia until 2046 (74+1 years from death), but the other A.P. page with a small random selection of videos that's totally arbitrary and not useful but hiding better landing places users; mainly Category:Videos which also has gallery pages for e.g. featured media etc. Many people land on this page with the few random files and it would be better if they were led to Category:Videos (and its links, subcategories, and pages). What is the problem? There are 27 examples of different videos, links to related Galleries and to Commons:Featured media, Category:Documentary videos, Wiki From Above (... and more videos there). Is it the music in the last added video, or the link to Commons Gallery Birthday (where I added 1 video - the cake song or what ??? -> keep the Gallery and add some (good) videos! They clearly come from a variety of different sources, but the photographers are not indicated and no license is provided for the photos themselves. The PD-old-70 license assigned by the uploader applies only to the objects, not to the photographs. Because these are all 3D objects (vases, reliefs, lamps, etc.), PD-Art does not apply. No, the "two-dimensional" definition used in the Commons is based on the legal case of Bridgeman vs. Corel, and is reserved for artworks that are completely flat and two-dimensional (paintings, engravings, drawings, etc.). These Roman oil lamps are not two-dimensional in any sense; they are three-dimensional objects made of clay, with molded decoration that projects from the surface in high relief. Photographs of such objects vary considerably depending on the placement of the camera and the angle of the lighting, and therefore they are considered sufficiently original to create a new copyright. For more detail, see Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag#When should the PD-Art tag not be used?, where the basic rule of thumb is "anything that could cast a shadow is excluded". The example used there is a photograph of a PD coin; even though the relief on coins is normally quite low, "the WMF General Counsel has indicated that in his view coin images do not fall under Bridgeman v. Corel and hence are copyrighted". And the relief on these oil lamps is much higher (i.e., much more three-dimensional) than any coin. Crawdad Blues (talk) 16:01, 3 February 2026 (UTC)

@Back ache: that is not a valid reason to keep the images. This is s not a DR about scope so keeping or deleting these images is based on legal basis. Btw, have you take the time checking how many DRs were open in the last quarter about graffiti in the UK or even about Banksy before making such claim? My intuition tells me you didn't. The last one may fall under the "de minimis" exception, but needs a better title.
