English: The Florida Avenue Meeting House of the Friends Meeting of Washington, located at 2111 Florida Avenue, N.W., in the Sheridan-Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
Designed by architect Walter F. Price in 1930, the Colonial Revival-style building served as the place of worship for U.S. President Herbert Hoover and his wife, Lou Henry, both of whom were Quakers. The Florida Avenue Meeting House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1990; in addition, the building is designated as a contributing property to the Sheridan-Kalorama Historic District, listed on the NRHP in 1989. |
