File:Wikidata Infobox Tutorial - Infoboxes using mostly Module-Wikidata.svg
Summary
| Description |
English: A non-technical explanation how Wikidata-powered Infoboxes work that use mostly Module:Wikidata.
When a Wikipedia page loads, it will parse the infobox code and look for local data (and keywords opting in or out of Wikidata). Then (1) it will check the Template:Infobox for Wikidata invokations ({{#invoke:Wikidata|..}}) and check which values need to be retrieved. For each value (2) Module:Wikidata is called which calls the connected Wikidata item (3), which then sends the data back to the Wikipedia page (4). |
