Report users for clear cases of vandalism. Block requests for any other reason should be reported to the blocks and protections noticeboard.

Other reports that require administrator assistance which do not fit in any of the previous three noticeboards may be reported here. Requests for history merging or splitting should be filed at COM:HMS.

 Not done @Junior Jumper, it looks to me like you gave them a warning to stop doing this 5 minutes and threatening that if they continue they will be blocked. Five minutes later, you reported them here and asked for a block. Please, in the future, don't do both! Think about it: "If you don't stop, you're going to be in trouble. [Person does nothing.] You are now in trouble." Just not an appropriate sequence.

Hopeful2014 block evasion

Looks like a return of User:Hopeful2014, making the same mass category/postcode changes to East London images and category pages as past socks like User:Hackneyvibe94 from a few months ago (eg. /, /) and the same kind of "...is a place area in London..." alterations to category descriptions () that were recorded repeatedly in article leads on enwiki at en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Hopeful2014/Archive.     Thanks. These edits have been disputed independently by many local editors on enwiki since 2019, and here they were removing some postcode categories added by a longstanding Commons user. If they're trying to avoid scrutiny on edits they know to be controversial, and are unwilling to discuss them (they never include edit summaries and they instantly stopped editing in response to this thread being opened), reverting it all seems fair. image protection

Hello,

due to vandalism my image on wikimedia was fully protected and I couldnt make any changes to it (referring to this map) I was advised to make a request here so that I would be able to edit and overwrite my file.

@Proper2oo: I'll lower the protection level on that, but given how much it's been vandalized, my guess is that it should be re-raised when you are done.
Also, the color for tributaries in your key doesn't match the one in your map, and you should probably get those in line with one another.

 Not done see my resolution of Commons:Deletion requests/File:50caliberFA.jpg. I am choosing not to take any disciplinary action at this time, and strongly hope other admins will allow that to stand.

At the moment, the only solution I see is to protect the files in the Category:LOVOT. Either for a specific period of time, as already done by @Taivo: or as I have done. However, some files have been vandalized long before May 1st. Perhaps it would be worth considering blocking the files indefinitely for unregistered users. זיו「Ziv」 • For love letters and other notes 08:03, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

Deceased user

I just read that User:Горбунова М.С. is deceased. In January, someone wrote about her death on her user page using her account. Should this account be blocked and globally locked? Is this the right place to request this? Thanks in advance --Robert Flogaus-Faust (talk) 17:28, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

 Comment File:Vijay Kumar Soren's volgur words.png uploaded by ᱯᱨᱚᱯᱷᱮᱥᱥᱚᱨ is itself an importing of en-wiki drama to Commons. It looks like on his own en-wiki talk page, Vijay made some legal threats, which he then walked back (though you'd never know the latter from what was posted on Commons, and the Commons file page lacked a link back to the source; I had to read the image and type). There was absolutely no good reason for a screenshot of this on Commons, and posting it looks like harassment of Vijaysoren. If you want to reference a diff, do it with a diff, not a screenshot.
Vijaysoren's response on the linked page linked by Trade is a link to a PDF (plus some categories that in the circumstances look only mildly contentious, but which don't belong on a file talk page, and have already been removed). If that PDF exists, it is probably not accessible in the U.S., because all I see if I click on the link is "NoSuchKey", so I have no idea what the PDF might say.
Looks to me like two users importing drama from another wiki and trouting each other. There may be more going on, but my reaction is that we should delete the file and either (a) block neither or (b) block both. I don't really care which. - Jmabel ! talk 03:56, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
