How is the work progressing?
Hi - I come from the Flickypedia project, and we're wondering about data modelling at the moment. Does anyone know when the "work in progress" on these additional metadata fields might be completed? Thanks! Ukglo (talk) 14:16, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Ukglo: Most of the items that are "work in progress" are fully implemented and in highly active use. However, currently these data are added by bots and not directly by the software. Only once this hurdle is taken, the modelling would be completed and consistent. Commons:Structured data/Properties table might give you a better overview on adoption. --Schlurcher (talk) 09:39, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
- Ooh - thanks! That property data is interesting.
- What does "added by bots and not directly by the software" mean? What is the "hurdle" you refer to? Ukglo (talk) 14:53, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

– This isn’t really accurate. A lot of this data is added by the software, as documented by the § Data in RDF section (this documentation was added 2024–2025, but the software has done this for much longer – I haven’t traced down all the predicates butschema:encodingFormathas been present since 2019). That we still have multiple bots insisting to add copies of this data, in a much less efficient format and at the risk of becoming outdated if the file is changed, is really nothing but a colossal waste of resources.
