Summary

Description System Development Methodology, or SDM2. The seven phases of system development are listed across the top; IP = information planning, DS = definition study, BD = basic design, DD = detailed design, R = realisation, I = implementation, and O&S = Operation & Support. This method was originally developed in 1970 by PANDATA in the Netherlands, which was later purchased by Capgemini, who enhanced the method further. This model of software development is an example of a waterfall model.
