Template talk:Depicted logo
Ambiguous language
The language used when specifying the duration a logo is used is confusing to read. See, for example (pardon its peculiarity, I couldn't come up with anything):
The logo of Company – organization cultivating exclusively lentils from 2020
The "from 2020" added to the end of the description makes it read like Company as a company was started in 2020, or the lentils themselves are from the year of 2020. Additionally, when to= is specified, it also being after the description makes it seem like the company ended at a specific date, rather than the depicted logo simply going out of use. This is an unfortunate side effect of the ambiguities of the English language, but it can easily be fixed. In my opinion, some more sensible descriptions would be:
The logo of Company since 2020 – organization cultivating exclusively lentils The logo of Company (organization cultivating exclusively lentils) since 2020 The logo of Company (organization cultivating exclusively lentils) from 2013 to 2020
I hope this is the right place to ask, and I certainly hope someone sees this and is able to entertain the suggestion. I may dig into the workings of this template and make the change myself in the future once I am able, but I'll leave this here regardless as an explanation It's page-protected </3. — rae5e <talk> 14:09, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
