Should I get involved?
Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, I just figured the people here might be experienced with this sort of thing. I wish to report someone for breaking Commons:Civility, but there's two issues:
- I am not personally involved in any way with the issue, I have never had any interaction with said user. This is just something I've noticed from their interactions with other users.
- I am worried that this user may target and harass me for calling them out, and cause undue stress and disruption to my editing.
Should I do it? This behavior has been going on for years, so it probably won't resolve on its own. I normally never get involved with "drama", but hurts me to see others being hurt, and I don't want to fall victim to the w:bystander effect. Sorry for the unusual question. LetmeEditit (talk) 13:58, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- @LetmeEditit: It's almost impossible to give generic advice on that. Like almost anyone else, there are times I wade in, there are times I stay out. - Jmabel ! talk 20:00, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- I just wish there was a way to report someone anonymously... I'm very conflict-avoidant. Perhaps I am a coward. LetmeEditit (talk) 12:22, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
- If it is serious enough, I would report it by email to one of the admins. Yann (talk) 12:30, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
- How serious is "serious enough"? It's definitely not serious enough for Wikimedia office action. More like a lot of minor offenses over years, and lack of change despite previous dispute resolution attempts. They have been accused of multi-project harassment in the past, so I'm afraid of making an "enemy". LetmeEditit (talk) 12:55, 18 July 2026 (UTC)

I do believe that you should report the user and let the community decide; if they harass you in return, we (the community) can fast-track their fall from grace. Old revision deletion request: File:Genki logo.svg
I uploaded File:Genki logo.svg earlier today. The first version (18 July 2026, ~04:39 UTC) was an unofficial single-color rendering I derived from the company website; it has since been replaced with the official brand asset at the request of the trademark owner (I am affiliated with the company, see my user page disclosure). As uploader, I request deletion of that superseded first file version only — the current version should remain. Thank you. NevilleMehra (talk) 05:17, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
Done @NevilleMehra: in case you don't know, we don't usually delete old versions in situations like this, but in this case I'd say it's a legitimate Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion#G7 deletion request; better that you did it this way than using two different file names and having use delete the first one. - Jmabel ! talk 05:27, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
Deleted script
Can I get an old version of User:Whym/WatchlistNotice.js circa 2013 restored as a user subpage? If the full history is complicated to restore, just copying by hand from a suitable deleted version would be fine for me.
I know the current version of the watchlist notice script is available elsewhere, but I would like to retrieve a simpler version than that. To the best of my knowledge, the old version was solely written by me before it was completely rewritten from scratch. It looks like it was merged into MediaWiki:WatchlistNotice.js, which is deleted now. whym (talk) 07:13, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
- FWIW, it was moved, and even on the date moved from your user space does not show as having been mainly by you. Most of the edits seem to belong to Dschwen. It's pretty simple, though, and I can't imagine anyone feeling a major stake in it, so I'll place a version at User:Whym/sandbox and you can do as you will from there. - Jmabel ! talk 19:19, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
F10 speedy deletion request: personal unnecessary photograph
Hello. I uploaded a private photograph to Wikimedia Commons and I want to take it down please. I realize that it was a mistake and regret posting it. I am the original uploader, the file is unused, and I have tagged it with {{F10}}. Could an administrator please review the speedy deletion request when possible? Thank you الغريزة الفائقة (talk) 21:57, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
- I'm sorry for the confusion but this includes all of my uploads if possible. If its possible it would be very kind to change or remove the names of the files as well. Thanks you very much! الغريزة الفائقة (talk) 22:10, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
- Warning: NSFW.
- Normally we don't speedy-delete at uploader request after more than 7 days, and these uploads are over 18 months old. However, given that they appear to be nude/sexual content of no notably high quality, I will delete them. If any other admin wants to review, feel free: as an admin you can still see them after I delete, and I won't object to undeletion, but I want to avoid the Streisand effect here. - Jmabel ! talk 22:50, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
Done - Jmabel ! talk 22:52, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
- I really appreciate your help, thanks and have a good day! الغريزة الفائقة (talk) 23:35, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

License reviewer request - long stale
Hey there, I submitted a license reviewer request around 2 weeks ago, and it was scheduled to close about 10 days ago. However, it hasn't received any comment in that time period. Would someone be willing to close it, similar to the one closed previous to mine for Gert7 which also received no comment? Aplucas0703 (talk) 19:48, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
Request for update of protected template PD-Cuba
Cuba has enacted a new copyright law in 2022, repealing the previous one from 1977. Notably, the new law removed the provision for perpetual copyright to government works, which now enter the public domain 50 years after being published. The CRT page COM:CUBA has been updated to reflect the new law, but the Template:PD-Cuba has not, since it's protected. I request the due update of this template. Rename a series of pictures
Hi, I'm working on wikisource on Euclid tome 2. I've successfully uploaded pictures, but a group of 2 pages was missing in the original pages from bnf. They are present in the djvu. It creates a shift in the names of the following pics (upload on 2026-05-03 11:55):
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 448.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 446.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 444.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 442.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 439.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 436.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 428.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 427.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 425.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 422.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 420.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 418.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 417.png
- File:Euclide - Les Œuvres, Peyrard, 1816, tome 2, fig page 414.png
The 2 missing pages were 414 415, so that all this pics should have a page number increased by 2.
I tried the rename button on the fig p448 → to p450, (demand ok) but after that, in decreasing order, the interface refuses the rename (due to name collision p446 → p448).
Please, could an administrator rename these pics: range of pages should become p416 to p450. Sorry for the mistake. I will rectify the names for the few last pages after 450. Best regards TeddyBoomer (talk) 12:40, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
