Just one or two things; Could the sword-arm-and-motto emblem be moved to the right, so that it's situated midway between the St. George's Cross and the exact point where the flag splits into two tail-ends? And could the letters of the motto be changed into all-capitals (I know it's difficult to determine for sure, but that's the impression I got from looking at the visual source image)? @Snow Lion Fenian: - The caps is no problem & I've got that done. Re: the spacing of the sword & motto, I see what you mean about the placement. I tried to position it all exactly half-way between the St. George's Cross & the split, but that's actually to the *left* of where it is now (Not what I expected either just looking at it). 3/4 of the way would visually push it a bit to the right? For what it's worth, I took the current spacing from the sample image, so that *should* be as close as possible to that example. @Bpmcneilly: Thank you for pointing that out. :) With that information in mind, I'm now inclined to think the emblem would be better off remaining unchanged from its current position. Hi. Yes, I am very satisfied with this, as it follows the party’s guidelines. However, I was not aware of what you found regarding the flags in last year’s posts not using italicised text. I am therefore not sure what needs to be done. Should we use some kind of “official” version to illustrate the articles simply because it is stated in their guidelines, or should we revert to normal text, since that seems to be what the party has been using lately? My guess what’s happening is they updated their flag at some point to the Instagram version without updating their official document, and nobody bothered to correct it in their document. The usual way this is handled on Commons is that we make both flags; title the first version “flag of XXX (2005)” and the second one “flag of XXX (2013)” i can see the flag has been in use since at least 2013 痛Designism (talk) 04:19, 12 January 2026 (UTC)

The label for the Rub' al Khali desert in the middle of the map is the wrong color. It's supposed to be gold like the Sahara, but instead is black. I cleaned up the code and added IDs.

@Mrmw: I'm not sure what you did exactly, but the map has some serious problems now. Country borders are barely visible and noticeably shifted. Cities are now in the wrong countries, for example El Paso and San Diego are now in Mexico. City labels overlap city markers, etc. I'm inclined to revert it, but maybe you can fix it. @Bpmcneilly I suddenly discovered that although the modification of the Mordovian ASSR national emblem was completed, the font used was seriously narrow. Therefore, I suggest that all but the original "РСФСР" five letters be switched to Arial font, and the same is true for other ASSR emblems that will be vectorized soon. So, in this instance the font used was Liberation Sans Narrow (an open font Arial clone). I can try & replace it with the standard Liberation Sans? I just tried it in the lower portion of the emblem & what resulted was smaller text (so it would fit on the line), and then individual letters getting squeezed together even more (in particular for the Moksha line). In the top, the results may be better as the text is smaller & we've got more space to play with. I'm happy to switch it for all the text & let you know which version your prefer though. Speaking only for myself: the effort required for vectorizing cannot be judged just by whether an image “looks simple.” What really matters is whether vector data already exists and how easy it is to find.
Logo Washington Monthly.svg: I searched for vector data for a long time but couldn’t find any. I still decided to vectorize it myself.
Logos are official assets and must be reproduced precisely. That means I take a lot of care — and the necessary time — when working on a logo like this.
So if requests here are not handled in the order or speed you expected, there are likely technical reasons. No one is ignoring you on purpose.
Relisting your requests will not change this. It tends to create confusion and could even have the opposite effect.
You could try to engage the contributors and motivate them — for example, by explaining why you want 17 football logos vectorized. ✓ Done --Mrmw (talk) 15:17, 22 February 2026 (UTC)

  • for the private-specialist patch, one large bar whose height equals the combined height of the two smaller bars (plus the spacing between them) from "SVG starting point #1"↖ and page 179 (picture c) of the PDF↘
  • for the general ranks (3- and 4-star), please take the snake emblem and the stars from "SVG starting point #2"↖ and place them according to page 182 (pictures c and d) of the PDF↘

I wanted to fix part of a logo I tried to fix, but couldn't. It's finally been fixed. It was this logo that needed a partial fix, and I finally got it. This logo had been an EPS/.AI (I don't remember) conversion gone wrong. I only uploaded the part below the threshold of originality here (not the one above which is the coat of arms inside the crest). It was not a redrawing, but a bug fix. Now that's been resolved, people here can move on to other logos (especially the Syrian government logos, Soviet regional emblems, military insignia, television logos, etc...). Thank you all. Just because an SVG is a fake SVG is not enough as a reason.
For U.S. Army Master Combat Action Badge SVG.svg, however, the wrapped raster file exists as a PNG. In that case, I would say the fake SVG should be deleted.
For Master combat action badge illustration.svg, I do not see that a real raster file of the actual image content exists as a duplicate, so I would not delete that file. --Mrmw (talk) 11:00, 4 March 2026 (UTC)

I think the PNG was made from a PDF. I do not know how the remaining variants were selected. I just tried some obvious TTF settings. Some editing apps can extract the list of variants from the font, show them to the user, and let the user choose what he wants.

I'm not sure about which variant is at issue. Isn't File:Latin capital letter phonotypic Eng.svg the same as DejaVu Serif's style="font-feature-settings: 'aalt' 2"?
If I look at
Fifth Revised Proposal to encode characters for the English Phonotypic Alphabet (EPA) in the UCS https://www.unicode.org/L2/L2024/24277-epa-proposal-fifth-edition.pdf (2024-04-07) page 22 states
  • ﬋: This could be proposed as a separate letter LATIN CAPITAL LETTER REVERSED N WITH INWARDS HOOK, which is not done at this time. Instead, it is unified with U+014A LATIN CAPITAL LETTER ENG, which already includes several different glyph variants.
The letter in that document looks like Ŋ ('aalt' 2).
I just see 3 variants for Ŋ available in DejaVu Serif (am I missing something?), so I do not see how DejaVu Serif can display all the variants in the gallery.

@Candidyeoman55: There are about 195 sovereign states. In this category I only see 45 different SVG flag icons. This means that at least about 150 SVGs may still be missing from this set.
I have a few questions for you:
  • What is your connection to this request, and why are you taking part in it without actively helping with the solution?
  • Why are you ignoring the question from @Cmglee: ?

    1 - These five major countries are missing from the set, so I requested them when I noticed. By the way, Brazil is my home country.
    2 - For the Cmglee question, I don't have an answer, nor am I the one who has to answer.

    Maybe I should have requested these five flags in a separate request. I said eventually because I don't expect them to be made in the short term. @Candidyeoman55: I do not want to move this to the talk page, because I already tried there to explain the purpose of this project page to you, especially how participation here works. There was no real discussion with you, and you gave no indication that you understood it or that you want to change your behavior.
The examples are very small, but they show that your understanding of this is very limited.
  • Cmglee asked another user why only a few flags should be added to this potentially large set. You expanded that request but did not consider that the same question could also apply to the flags you requested. It does not matter whether you expand an existing request or create a new one. You talk about “major countries”, but who decides when a country is important, and where the exact limit is for a country to stop being important? If you really care about making this set complete, you could make it your own project and try to involve the creator of the existing flags, for example. You could also move it to a subpage of your user page.
  • I already told you that it is not your task to decide which requests are important, difficult, or quick to complete. It is also not your task to change the context of requests made by other users.
Please finally take some real distance from the requests of other users here, especially when you are not helping with the implementation.
If you do not actively help with the work on this project page, then in my opinion your participation here should be limited to creating your own requests, without pushing them.
You are still welcome, now and in the future, to help other users with their requests here. But so far you have not done that.

  1. The background of the red cross in the hoist should actually be white instead of yellow, as with the other sledge flags from the Terra Nova Expedition.
  2. The boar's head should be grey rather than gold.
  3. The black-over-yellow bicolour section of the flag should be more elongated.
  4. The top and bottom edges of the flag should be diagonally slanted (like on a triangular swallowtail pennant) rather than completely straight.

Re non-matching colour, our thumbnail generator rsvg makes colours slightly darker than what is specified in the SVG code. A workaround is to pre-brighten it but it will then be too bright should the bug be fixed. cmɢʟee ⋅τaʟκ 00:59, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

Before any more work is done on this, are we sure that the image is "free"? While I understand the provision for flags, this does/did not represent a real place: it was made up for a movie. On the other hand, it consists of some stylised text and geometrical shapes, which may fall under the threshold of originality. Could someone familiar with legalities please check? If following: Copyright on emblems. The threshold of originality would depend on whether the fictional script falls under font/calligraphy, geometric drawing, or non-geometric drawing. I will probably start to work on the signs in the coming week, but since the quality of these raster images is good, I will probably prioritize creation of the few missing signs from 1971 regulations rather than converting from raster. It should not too complicated since I have the font available from past road sign creations. Note that some of the raster signs are already available (since are the same of the 1969 collection but with a proportional rescaling); I doubt that it is worth recreating identical images --Earthshaker13 (talk) 10:11, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

@FaviFake All the signs are available, including the stopping place one that you thought it was missing. Note that 4 signs (including the stopping place one) are actually exact scaled down or exact replicas of their 1969's versions. Don't think that any duplicate is needed (maybe just some redirects, from new name). At this point I will mark that task as completed.
By the way, I see that you redirected directly a few .png files to the new .svg version: I don't think that it is correct (considering that are different file format) and I took the liberty to revert back that change Earthshaker13 (talk) 20:03, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

I'd like to request an improved & transparent version of "⿰⿳⿰SIR木阝" for the character's Wiktionary article One version sized 200x200 pixels (named File:⿰⿳⿰SIR木阝centered.svg) and another of the same character, exactly the same but with 50 pixels added to the bottom (200x250px) (named File:⿰⿳⿰SIR木阝text.svg).
