Description

This Byzantine Period basilica at Pella is one of three churches so far uncovered at the site.

  • This particular basilica stands at the head of the spring in Wadi Jirm that is located between the main mound (to right in the photo), and Tell Husn. *Destroyed by a severe earthquake in the eighth century CE, the restoration of this monument has been the responsibility of the Jordanian Department of Antiquities over recent years.
