 Keep There are other languages of Wikipedia that uses only files from Commons. I believe the Spanish Wikipedia uses only Commons files. The official flag with the official tree design used to be on Commons until it was deleted for copyrighted reasons. If we upload the official one, this could be a copyvio. Even with the disclaimer, the SVG still intentionally alters the official design of the flag. This risks misleading readers because it presents an inaccurate representation of an official symbol.
If the official design cannot be hosted due to copyright concerns, the appropriate solution would be to not host the flag rather than to host a deliberately modified version.
Whether some Wikipedia projects rely exclusively on Commons is not a determining factor here. Commons' scope is to host accurate freely licensed media, not approximations of copyrighted works. JaydenChao (talk) 16:15, 15 March 2026 (UTC)

Please refer to Commons:Administrators' noticeboard/User problems#Uploads by Fabe56 where this uploader has uploaded multiple files uncritically from Flickr. This tranche is a set of pictures of random unnamed people in a personal travelogue. Even though the Flicker licence is acceptable, they appear to be a collection of private pictures, possibly containing the uploader in some cases, possible in none. They appear to have no educational value. Commons is not a host for private pictures. This diff where the uploader states "All my upload must be deleted ASAP, so do not waste time here." may be relevant.

As seen in the description, these images are taken as part of a documentary project. The project is not notable, but the artist directing it, en:Chris Jordan (artist) appears to be somewhat notable, and the project is even mentioned in the en-wiki article. I think the whole image set can be kept, and the images that depict animals can be useful for documenting the wildlife of Midway Atoll.
Anyways, I think these images of Chris Jordan (the artist) can definitely  Keep as the person is notable enough to have Wikipedia articles in multiple langauges.

Please don't delete files in Category:Midway Journey III without individual review. There are many valuable photos of Laysan albatrosses, other identifiable species, and their habitat.

 Keep all. These are production photos for the documentary Abatross by a notable director famous for his documentation of Midway (see e.g. this from the BBC about his previous doc. We do not have tons of photos of Midway, of film productions, of albatrosses, etc. It looks like in this case Fabe56 created many categories trying to identify the subjects, and I don't see why that couldn't continue. Not so sure. If this was one newspaper article, yes, that would be a clear case. But here we have a sort of collage that may not have much artistic value but may meet theshold of originality anyway. The permission might not be the problem, assuming that either the uploader herself or the owners of the property may have taken the pictures and could send a permission.

    True, however, a synthesis of some original research on language classification can be mapped and can easily be added to other projects. And, adding an incorrect map to multiple projects does not mean that the map is correct and it does meet scientific criteria and it is compatible with the basic principles of Wiki. As I detailed, the map (and its classification) is significantly inconsistent with leading linguistic authorities, it does still lack reliable sources and it resembles a synthesis of one-sided OR material. They are the same image, it could not have been created in 1965 and 1986 at the same time. In any case, even if we assume it is the earlier date of 1965, the image would have still been copyrighted in the Dominican Republic in 1996 and thus have its copyright extended by the URAA. – Howardcorn33 (💬) 02:20, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

Most of these images are my own photographs that I originally uploaded to my Flickr account under a free license and then imported to Commons. They were taken over a number of years and across different periods using various cameras and phones (Sony, Fujifilm, Nikon, iPhone, etc.), which explains the differing EXIF camera data.
I do see that one file appears to be attributed to Jonathan Newsome. I’m not sure how that ended up included in the batch, and I am fine with that file being deleted. There are also two screenshots among the files; if those are not appropriate for Commons I am also fine with those being removed (one is not currently used on any page). I have requested that these be deleted in their particular files.
For the remaining files, they are my own photographs that were posted on Flickr and imported here. Some of these images are quite old, so I may no longer have the original files locally, but the Flickr uploads were mine and were released under a free license there. We should also ask this for the women, whose head was just cut off on the photo: File:Sexual intercourse 3.jpg. Only people who know her, would recognize her, the same way as the lady in Edinburgh. The lady in Edinburgh is still fully clothed, whereas the woman in the brothel had to take off her clothes so that a client could abuse her and he even took a nude photo of her without her consent.
