Files in Category:Stamps by Joachim Rieß

Per Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Germany stamps of Germany are copyrighted for at least 70 year after the artist's death. In this case the artist, Joachim Rieß, seems to still be alive or at least hasn't been dead for more then 70 years given when the stamps were published. So these images should be deleted as COPYVIO until an as yet to be determined date.

@Wikijunkie: Can you please re-vote in a new comment without altering my original message and just list the one or two files you think shouldn't be deleted please? Otherwise it just gets to convoluted and hard to follow. Especially if I want to respond to your comment. Thanks. --Adamant1 (talk) 20:52, 5 September 2025 (UTC)

BTW, Wikijunkie voted to keep File:Stamps of Germany (DDR) 1990, MiNr 3299.jpg and a couple of other images that are loosely based on a painting from the 1500s. Anyone can compare them to the stamps are different from the original though. So at least IMO they are original enough to have their own copyright separate from the original. --Adamant1 (talk) 20:57, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
I did it like it was done above. This mass-deletion-requests are hard to handle, if I write a list to keep under the deletion request. I also think it has to be your turn to check, if the image is free under another license, before you nominate them for a deletion. It seems like laziness if you just work through a category from top to bottom without thinking. Now its your turn to take my votes here. It looks like you're deleting votes that don't comply with your proposal, especially since I also provided detailed information. --Wikijunkie (talk) 21:11, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
I did it like it was done above. I didn't start the first the deletion request and I don't care how other people did it years ago. Your the one saying mass-deletion-requests are hard to handle. That's not made easier by a single user voting multiple times inside of the original request. It's also just super rude to write in line comments in other people's messages. I'd sure you'd have a problem with me splitting your comment into 15 different sentences and responding to each one individually in side of your original message. It's just a rude thing to do.
It seems like laziness if you just work through a category from top to bottom without thinking. There's still multiple images in the category that I didn't nominate for deletion. So that's not what I did. Maybe assume good faith. I said I don't think the artwork on the stamp is PD because it's different from the original. Why not actually respond to that instead of just acting like I was being lazy when I explained why I included it? --Adamant1 (talk) 21:23, 5 September 2025 (UTC)

Deleted: per nomination, but kept one which actually shows a wall painting of the stamp, and FOP applies. Joachim Rieß, born in 1937, is apparently alive. Neither the Dürer stamps nor the Brahms stamp use the original works which were pointed out, but recreations by Rieß. One might argue about the originality of the stamp with flags and ornaments, but I think it's original enough, especially by US standards (which have to be considered here at Wikimedia Commons). --Rosenzweig τ 13:47, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
