Summary
| Description |
English: Interference pattern of two point-like wave exciters. The lines show the wave fronts of the blue and red exciters. Solid lines show wave crests, dotted lines show wave troughs. If a wave crest meets a wave crest or a wave trough meets a wave trough at one point, the amplitudes increase there and we obtain constructive interference (white dots). If a wave trough meets a wave crest at a certain point, the amplitudes weaken and we obtain destructive interference (black dots). Points of maximum amplification and extinction move along hyperbolas (black lines). |
