Ce n'est pas un argument . Le problème est de choisir un nom qui ne prête pas à confusion, ce qui était le cas du nom du fichier et de sa description antérieurs, laissant croire qu'il s'agissait du monogramme d'une personne, alors qu'il s'agit de la marque d'un produit. Il y a deux aspects ici. Le premier concerne la notion d’œuvre dérivée, au sens de la recommandation que j'ai indiquée ci-dessus. Une œuvre dérivée, en particulier une reproduction, ne confère généralement pas de droit patrimonial à son créateur, la titularité restant entre les mains du détenteur des droits sur l’œuvre sous-jacente/reproduite. Pour cette raison, j'ai signalé à Chatsam qu'il faut veiller à bien préciser la source des oeuvres dérivées téléversées sur Commons, afin que l'on puisse vérifier si cette source est dans le domaine public ou sous une licence libre autorisant les œuvres dérivées. Le second problème, qu'une telle précision aurait permis de repérer plus rapidement, est qu'en la circonstance l’œuvre adaptée est une création originale, revendiquée comme telle dans un enregistrement de copyright, figurant sur un emballage. En résumé, tout le monde peut se tromper mais c'est une bonne pratique à appliquer que d'indiquer la source et de ne pas faire comme si le seul fait d'avoir redessiné quelque chose vous conférait un droit patrimonial sur ce dessin. Je prends un exemple concret: File:Sceau de François Coty.svg. L'image d'origine est dans le domaine public en raison de son ancienneté. Celle téléversée sur Commons en est une oeuvre dérivative et devrait soit porter une indication de domaine public, si l'on considère que le dessin est une copie fidèle, soit porter la double indication d'une source dans le domaine public et d'une adaptation mise sous licence CC-BY-SA. I used the Commons:SVG Translate tool to add an English translation of the text, in addition to the French, not replacing it. This meant that the image used French text when it appeared on on fr.wikipedia.org, and English text on en.wikipedia.org. Was that not working properly? I checked fr.wikipedia.org after making my changes, and I thought the text was showing in French.

J'ai une question à propos du blason (ou devrais-je dire "les blasons") de Varize-Vaudoncourt (File:Blason ville fr Varize-Vaudoncourt 57.svg). Sur quel modèle êtes-vous basé pour réaliser ce blason? Car lorsque je recherche sur internet ce blason, je n'en trouve aucun qui est identique au votre, il a toujours des différences.

In French (e.g. in the blazon in the image description), you would be correct to use bezanté broadly, but in English, which is the language the categories are set up in, bezanté refers to roundels Or; roundels vert are pommes. Hence, "semy of pommes" is correct and "bezantée" is incorrect. Je te contacte car, considérant les délais qui s'allongent dans les demandes de renommage R4 (concernant les blasons), ainsi que dans les R3 (où cela risque même d'être refusé), je souhaitais te poser la question suivante: n'aurais-tu pas dans l'idée de demander à accéder aux droits de renommeur de fichiers, afin d'apporter un concours supplémentaire au projet blasons?
J'ai appris l'heureux événement par les voies officielles,
Il y a présentement quatre fichiers en attente, en R4, qui n'ont pas trouvé de volontaire:
Adhémar, une glorieuse famille originaire du Dauphiné et qui compte au moins trois branches.
Dupuy, non moins glorieuse maison dont les rameaux sont plus nombreux encore.
Warsberg: un fichier dont le renommage permettra d'éviter la création, redondante, d'une même image sous différents noms, un peu comme celui-ci qui figure le blason de différentes familles portant des armes identiques.
Limpach: idem ci-dessus, déjà utilisé comme générique pour une autre famille (Berthout)
Si le Warsberg ne convenait pas à cette utilisation, il devrait être possible de trouver un autre gueules-sautoir-argent, lui aussi uniquement destiné à un armorial, mais pas le Forceville qui doit être refait.

Je pense que les blasons ont plus de chance d'être prient en charge quand ils sont dans une categorie qui se rapporche de leurs sujets. Cette categorie est une vrai poubelle dont je suis la seule à m'occuper.

To sum up, "Coats of arms to be classified" is a trash-bin category that must constantly be taken care of, the files being dispatched from there to the level-1 relevant category. I add, that a file standing at root in Category:Ecclesiastical heraldry is implicitely "to be classified", thus making the "to be classified category" irrelvant, or redundant. Announcing the Winners of Picture of the Year 2025!
Hi everyone,
Wikimedia Commons is pleased to finally announce the winners of this year's Picture of the Year 2025 contest! We had some truly incredible finalists to choose from, but the community has spoken.
Here are your top three winning images:
First place: The aftermath of an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City on October 9, 2023, leaving widespread destruction in the Rimal area. Attribution: WAFA (Q2915969) / CC-BY-SA 3.0
Second place: Baby cape fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus) sleeping at Cape cross, Namibia. Attribution: Giles Laurent / CC-BY-SA 4.0

I also want to highlight what an incredible turnout we had. In the second round, we saw a massive jump in both the number of users voting and the total votes cast. We had exactly 13,979 votes cast by 3,509 users! To put that in perspective, last year we had 7,403 votes from 2,837 users. It is amazing to see that level of growth and community engagement.
Thank you to everyone who voted, helped organize, and generally made the contest such a huge success this year!

Le problème est de choisir un nom qui ne prête pas à confusion, ce qui était le cas du nom du fichier et de sa description antérieurs, laissant croire qu'il s'agissait du monogramme d'une personne, alors qu'il s'agit de la marque d'un produit.
