There is no Freedom of Panorama in Burundi. Images of buildings can only be used in textbooks and other printed, old media. It is not allowed by their law to use images of buildings online. This is an obviously modern building still under its designer's copyright.

Files in Category:Cultural heritage monuments in the Democratic Republic of the Congo / Sauveur Mulwana artworks

These are works of art authored by sculptor Sauveur Mulwana. He is still alive and active in designing some of Congo-Kinshasa's monuments as of 2024. This means all of the monuments in the country designed by him are still protected by copyright. Since the Congolese copyright law does not grant broad Freedom of Panorama, Wikimedia Commons cannot host these images of public monuments designed by him.

Apparently erroneous AI-generated soil maps of India, with no clear source of the data, just a description of "based on my crop soil map". For example, nearly all other maps of soil in India show black soil encroaching on Telangana and reaching the east coast (eg. https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Major-soil-map-of-India-Maps-of-India-2021_fig1_356823522), which this AI map does not.

Belbury (talk) 14:39, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

Apparently you're right. Can I upload a new version. Ahinsa jain (talk) 15:02, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
If you can make or find an accurate accurate map, sure, please do.
Commons already has an existing map from 2013 which may serve your purpose: File:Major soil types in India.jpg Belbury (talk) 15:06, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
Can I use the research gate map as a reference? AI will copy colors but create file based on svgs (from commons). Ahinsa jain (talk) 15:24, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
If you credit it (and its author) as being the reference, yes. Belbury (talk) 15:40, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
I've uploaded the corrected version. The best I could get. Ahinsa jain (talk) 18:09, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
If these new versions are based solely on the ResearchGate map, they don't match it particularly well (eg. the AI map shows Gujurat as just black soil and a large amount of desert, while the ResearchGate map shows five different soil types including very little desert).
I don't know what prompts or other data sources you're using for this, but it looks as if this is a task that this particular AI cannot perform accurately. Belbury (talk) 18:35, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
Absolutely. I've started a pprocess by which labels are there for each district. Now I will manually provide the soil data for each label.
Also a district map with name hovering on it. Ahinsa jain (talk) 19:05, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
File:Soil map.svg has now been replaced with a lowish quality automatic SVG conversion of the ResearchGate map I suggested comparing it to above. That map doesn't appear to be freely licenced, though: "Content may be subject to copyright." You can use a map for general reference, but you can't just copy it directly. Belbury (talk) 12:47, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
My district level mapping of all districts is complete and now I'm in creating a hoverable soil svg.-Ahinsa jain (talk) 09:18, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

Apparently AI-generated descriptions of images ("text was given to AI and allegories were decoded"). How an AI interprets something is out of COM:SCOPE, and there are clear errors in which parts of the image are being indicated.

Belbury (talk) 12:18, 30 March 2026 (UTC)

Delete. The source images are File:William Blake Enoch Lithograph 1807.jpg and File:Hermes Io Argus.jpg. The added text interprets both pieces of artwork as referencing Hindu and Buddhist religious principles; this seems pretty wildly implausible. Omphalographer (talk) 03:15, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

Found via recent attention given to Category:All media needing categories as of 2021. Claims that users are rooting out copyvios via these cats don't wash when these have lingered on the site for 5+ years. These are claimed as own work. Numerous clues point to these being photos taken with a smartphone of architectural drawings framed and hanging on a wall. Lacking provenance of the original images, it's impossible to tell if the images are in the public domain. Therefore, COM:DW and COM:PCP apply. Please check also this comment, which seems to be made by a former employee: "ADM -started by Robert Bloom, was originally Audio Designs and Manufacturing, and for many years was located at 16005 Sturgeon, Roseville, Michigan. About 1981, we moved to 1626 East Big Beaver Road in Troy, Michigan. The 1626 building (I believe it has a slightly different address now) is now a postal processing facility. For respect to the 36500 people and souls who lost their lives for Lion and Sun revolution please do not delete Lion and Sun symbols because all of them are support Lion and Sun and Crown of Iran and want to bring Kingdom to Iran again so please show the world that wikipedia support democracy and not support dictatorship regime of Islamic Republic. ~2026-19787-06 (talk) 04:26, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
Please, refrain from insulting and keep this discussion civilized. Theklan (talk) 13:19, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
Comment Whether the images are AI is of little relevance for a few reasons. Firsty, US copyright law does not provide for the copyright of AI-generated art. Secondly, even if they are AI, they are interpretive representations of something real. Commons policy is that AI works must be "realistically useful", and I do not see anything about these works that would make them not realistically useful in the same style as if they were hand-drawn by an artist. The fact is that there are numerous interpretations and no universally agreed upon official work of the Lion and Sun symbol. Fry1989 eh? 16:19, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
This isn't the typical Lion and Sun symbol, though - it's a variant with a crowned sun, as well as several images of the crown alone. As far as I'm aware, this is not a symbol in common modern-day usage. Something similar to it was used pre-1979 - see e.g. File:Early 20th century ensign of Persia 2.svg - but these variants seem less well attested. (And I'm rather dubious of the uploader's contention that "all of [the Iranian protesters...] want to bring Kingdom to Iran again".) Omphalographer (talk) 18:50, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
If a real referendum can occure in Iran above 87% of Iran population want to bring back Kingdom to Iran and want a King rule in the IRAN like before 1979 that PAHLAVI KINGDOM bring a lot of freedom because of that in "Lion and Sun Revolution" that occured in January 2026 that "dictatorship islamic republic regime" in Iran killed at least 36500 people of Iran in the streets by gun when people of Iran in every city of Iran speak loudly "JAVID SHAH" Persian words that means "LONG LIVE THE KING" in English language but radical left media and most of the Europeans who are socialist communist that love republic and do not like imperialism-capitalism and Kingdom so these socialist-communiat people want censor all of these lion and sun and Crown symbols because bring back Kingdom in Iran and bring back crown to flag of Iran is very big failure for these radical left socialist communist people. ~2026-20218-15 (talk) 21:33, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

Keep Not every commercial product is spam. Balance bikes aren't something we're awah with images of. Andy Dingley (talk) 01:18, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
It was literally published by a single purpose account named after the manufacturer. It’s undeniable spam. Dronebogus (talk) 04:23, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

Still  Delete per COM:SCOPE: the fact that an unused blurred photograph could theoretically be used to illustrate an article on "Common mistakes in photography" does not mean that we should keep all blurred photographs. The fact that an unused snapshot of your friend could theoretically be used to illustrate an article on "Photographic portraiture" does not mean that we should keep all photographs of unknown people. The fact that an unused pornographic image could theoretically be used to illustrate an article on pornography does not mean that we should keep low quality pornographic images. The fact that a promotional image by a single-purpose spam account can be used to illustrate balance bikes does not mean we should keep all— or any —spam images. Doing so just sends a message that using Wikimedia as free advertising is fine as long as the advertisement posted is good quality and has a hypothetical use. Balance bikes are not a unique product only produced by this company; if they were I could see the argument for keeping regardless of uploader intent, but Category:Balance bicycles has plenty of good-quality images not even including subcategories.  Keep per what I said on the scope talk page. That this standard professional product photography is being likened to "an unused blurred photograph" used to illustrate bad photos is wild. Rhododendrites talk |  03:03, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
