Circa 1917 ad for Ye Olde Curiosity Shop, Seattle, Washington. The photo would be taken shortly after the shop moved back to Colman Dock, when the dock was remodeled 1916–1917. Founder J. E. Standley is visible in the doorway. Handwritten text across the bottom of the photo says "The most unique Shop in the World. On the Colman Dock Front, Seattle, U.S.A., foot of Columbia St. VISITORS ALWAYS WELCOME." As the card indicates, the entryway was framed by the "Jaw bones of a whale. over 21 ft. in length." |
