Category:United States FOP cases/kept- Photo was taken by me in Philadelphia USA. The sculpture was commissioned for the place in Philly now called something like "The Samuel Sculpture Garden" by Mr. Samuel about 1915. It was erected (published) in place in that public spot in 1918. So nothing about Icelandic FOP applies here. See the Smithsonian link at the photo page to confirm this info. A second casting was made and placed in Iceland after this, but that is irrelevant for the US copyright. Smallbones (talk) 18:14, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
- The 1st casting was made at in Philadelphia. Smallbones (talk) 18:18, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

Keep According to newspaper reports, the artist created the statue in the United States while working out of a studio in the carousel building in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. It was in place and unveiled on November 20, 1920. The statue is thus in the public domain in the USA (which is also its source country), and as such this photograph is Commons acceptable.
