Noting that the uploader also replied on their own talk page. There they state that they are the subject of the photos and that they own the photos, and thus are the copyright holder. Хочу рассказать по поводу Википедии русской версии - там сплошная пропаганда России, пропагандирует переписанную историю, неправильные понятия для других людей мира, оправдывает колонизацию и оккупацию, оправдывают действие России в войне против Украины, и там несёт характер пропаганды империализма и величие России. Википедия-мета не смогла уследить это действие из-за большой объёма информации из-за маскировочных слов информации. Википедия русская версия попала под влиянием органов власти России, поэтому там только больше всего ложные данные информации с правдивой информацией которые оправдывает действие России и защищает его интересы

Wikipedia meta was unable to track this action due to the large volume of information and the use of camouflage language. The Russian version of Wikipedia has fallen under the influence of Russian authorities, so it contains mostly false information alongside true information that justifies Russia's actions and protects its interests. But we must remember that we are ordinary people and not forget this. We are not system bots, but living people. I don't think that making a political case out of this will help as an argument in this deletion request. Wiki Commons is following copyright rules and COM:EDUSE, and, in so far, even propaganda would be OK to be uploaded on Commons as long as it is not protected by copyright or as long as it is uploaded under a free license.

I'd also question the ruwiki propaganda claim, as recently a pro-Russian editor got indefinitely banned from ruwiki, and then the same editor got banned from English Wikipedia after admins from ruwiki chimed in on the discussion and informed their English colleagues about the editor's problematic conduct on ruwiki .

You would be better of following Ahonc / Anatolii's advice about adding a CC license to the source website. However, even that would not really address the issue entirely given that the photos were taken by someone else: we would need a COM:VRT permission from the photographer. And even if Commons receives a valid VRT permission, the images might still get deleted on COM:EDUSE or COM:SCOPE grounds because the political movement/party in question is quite unnotable so far. If one searches for "партия Свобода Нации Северии" or "Движение Северский Край" on Google, the search results are only social media and the party's own website. Keep Based5290 says pretty much what I would say. Overwhelmingly, U.S. art of this sort from that era is now in the public domain. Even if notice was given, it still would have required renewal. Given very solid documentation of all renewals, it would be easy to prove if it had a copyright renewed. Lacking that, PD is an entirely reasonable assumption. Selling the art doesn't count [as publication] Yes it does? Limited publication requires distribution to a limited class of people for a limited purpose without right to further reproduction. Sale of art to anyone who could pony up the money for it is the exact opposite of a limited class of people. Once sale occured, physical control of the art left the copyright holder's hands and entered into the public dominion, free to be resold (per first sale doctrine) and exhibited without permission of the copyright holder. The only way the copyright holder could exert control at this point is by forbidding reproduction, which is exactly what statutory copyright protection is for. This file was uploaded in 2021 from the collections of the Boston Public Library, when it was originally marked as in the public domain. At some point in the intervening years, the source institution revised its copyright status to CC-BY-NC-ND, not eligible for Commons upload, and also now states "Rights status not evaluated", which is just generally confusing. The creator is listed as a (presumably) private photography studio, meaning if the date of 1939 is correct, there is still a chance it is copyrighted (especially if unpublished). I submitted 4 logos that I had created for use in presentations at a government agency, the request for deletion sited the reason as "we already have good vector versions of all four of these emblems" i do not contest that the vector version are good, my point is that the png files I uploaded are a superior version that the simple vector versions available on the page.

@Pollever, my bad. See Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Belgium#Freedom of panorama, {{FoP-Belgium}} requires a work "to be placed on a permanent basis in public places". Whether a museum is a public place is unclear, though the notes attached to the draft of the law suggested that wasn't the intention. And "permanent" seems like a stretch as well in this case. And it requires that "this reproduction or communication does not infringe upon the normal exploitation of the work" which is more difficult to argue when you take a photo of a photo. - Alexis Jazz ^{ping plz} 09:58, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

Delete all - The photo may be own work, but the underlying images have no information about them to establish their copyright status. Many of the photos are out of scope for Commons as they look to be family photos with no clear indication of any educational purpose. Old sound recording of a marching song, from an undisclosed source, unsubstantiated PD-old claim. Based on Google results this is most likely a recording from a Nazi Sturmabteilung marching band from 1933. Oppose "Based on Google results" After searching, there's no results besides AI - which can not disclose the source. With a claim like that, evidence of the quote claiming it to be Nazi would have to be provided, as otherwise it's just empty words, no more viable than saying German should be killed off as a language since only Neo-Nazis speak it - no proof that all germans are neo-nazis, empty words. Also, it's a old public recording from before WW2, had it on my PC for about 3 years before uploading it here, sang in Breslau. : Further, using words such as "ugliness" to describe an Anthem of a region is in even further miss-taste and is even more disgusting than the claims you have provided, which as said before, are all made up by you with no sufficient proof. Mazurek Dabrowskiego anthem of Poland - also uses an older recording played instrumentally, the German Empire anthem does as well, and so does the British one.

So each of your claims are false, incorrect, misleading, and deliberately disgusting.

The file description (of the first file) mentions "Musikzug unter Leitung von Musikzugführer Rudolf Brühl". That is not a sufficient source declaration allowing us to assess copyright status, as would have been your duty to provide. However, "Musikzugführer Rudolf Brühl" was a Nazi marching band leader in the 1930s who produced a number of such recordings of marching songs with the "Musikzug der SA-Standarte 9" and a choir of the "13th Battalion" of the SA. Some of them, including this song and several others of pure Nazi provenance (like "Die Hitlerleute" by en:Horst Wessel), can be found listed here (search for "Brühl" in the search box in the bottom right). That listing also includes credits, to "Max Rostock" (not sure if it's this one) and de:Wilhelm Gabriel. While these two are certainly not the creators of the song itself, which is of anonymous authorship and of course considerably older, the credits might have been meant for the specific lyrics and musical arrangement. Comment, I had an unrelated conversation with u:Theklan about a session I'm organising at Wikimania and he mentioned this discussion as an example of a contentious issue that has to do with AI-generated images. It's clear that these images are not used on "Project pages created by and edited only by the file's uploader" - last time I checked the page in question had 4 contributors, so per COM:INUSE they should be kept. More importantly, this goes against the spirit of wiki projects - it costs us nothing to keep these images and support a local initiative - Basque-language Kids Wikipedia. Lymantria, that's interesting. I hadn't noticed that site had a CC license at all. This file was claimed as own work and I found it on the web, that was it.
The file was uploaded for w:eu:Murumendi pilota eskola which doesn't exist (yet). Murumendi is a half-mile high mountain, pilota is some ball sport and eskola is school. https://www.instagram.com/murumendi.pelota/ seems related and has 251 followers.
Given that this image simply shows a bunch of kids in front of a wall (not a display of the sport) from a school that probably isn't in scope on any Wikimedia project beyond Wikidata, it appears to me this image probably isn't within our COM:SCOPE anyway, regardless of license. This is not an official Coat of Arms and thus does not fall under {{PD-RU-exempt}}. This proposed CoA is probably a recent work and thus protected by copyright. No historical source has been provided to demonstrate PD status and it's unlikely that there's such a source because the Siberian Republic (1918) is not a thing, and only existed for a short time and seemingly didn't have any official state symbols. Furthermore, it's clear that the uploader is not the author of this proposed CoA because the image was available on the internet before its upload to Commons (see for example this website where the image url indicates that it was uploaded in 2017). Legitime Frage. Die Bilder sind von Studierenden und mir selbst im Rahmen einer Lehrveranstaltung gemacht worden, die individuelle Urheberschaft kann ich nicht mehr seriös rekonstruieren. Ein Account sollte nur von Einzelpersonen genutzt werden (wobei wir bei Institutionen, glaube ich, Ausnahmen machen). Probleme hinsichtlich der Nachnutzbarkeit hingegen sehe ich keine, Gründe für eine Löschung auch nicht. Was denkst Du, ist das Problem, und wie könnte man es lösen? The cemetery dates to either 1967 or 1970. It is most likely the statue was erected at the same time. The listed authors are architect М. Т. Ільченко and sculptor А. А. Івченко. It is most likely that the artist or sculptor has not yet died for more than 70 years for this monument to fall out of copyright. Since the Ukrainian copyright law does not permit images of monuments and landmarks with independent economic value, Wikimedia Commons cannot host these freely licensed images.

Probable copyright violation per COM:TOYS. Removing the car models also removes the educational usefulness of that image. Grand-Duc (talk) 23:56, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
