The only intervention was the lightening of the dark paper background, necessary to improve the visibility of the engraved lines and details. The portrait, facial features, clothing, composition and engraved work were not intentionally altered or invented.

The derivative has now been explicitly linked to the original and labelled as AI-modified. It is used as the lead image in the Italian Wikipedia article about Giacomo Di Bartolo and has a clear documentary and educational purpose.

3. No successor publisher exists

The journal Integrative Psychiatry has no modern continuation, no successor title, and no entity claiming ownership.

It is not listed in any active catalog, archive, or rights registry.

4. Elsevier is not the rights holder

Although Elsevier appears on the printed pages of the journal, APA confirmed that Elsevier acted only as a printer/distributor.

Elsevier does not own rights to this title.

5. The work qualifies as an orphaned work

All attempts to identify a current rights holder have failed.

The original publisher is defunct, has no successor, and no entity claims ownership of the journal or its contents.

6. The author retains copyright

The author, Maria Dorota Majewska, did not sign any copyright transfer agreement in the 1980s.

In the absence of a transfer, and with the publisher defunct, the author is the sole copyright holder.

7. The author grants permission

As the copyright holder, I hereby grant permission for the scanned PDF of the article to be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons for scholarly, non‑commercial use.

I authorize publication under the license:

The original source includes the following explanation from the uploader: "I snuck back out to the step and repeat after the event photographer was finished for that express purpose but forgot to upload it haha." This addresses the concern that the image was taken by the official event photographer, but it does not establish who actually operated the camera.

@Abbedabb: - It should be made clearer that this was originally tagged as a speed delete copyvio by myself ("Derivative work of copyrighted material. Most likely COM:TOY applies here, i.e. derivative copyvio.") which you converted to this deletion request because "This file does not qualify for speedy-deletion and a regular deletion request will be started."

In that context, I assume that your comment is an argument in favour of "keep"?

If so, it has no bearing on the matter since no-one was disputing that it had been uploaded to Flicker under CC, and the actual reason given for deletion was that it violated COM:TOY.

It's a good image, and if you can come up with a legitimate argument for keeping it, or why I was mistaken, I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but I don't see any of that at present. Ubcule (talk) 13:59, 22 July 2026 (UTC)

All these images depict the en:Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana railway station, which is a copyrighted architecture by the living architect en:Santiago Calatrava, completed in 2013. No FOP in Italy, it is not PD-ItalyGov either since it wasn't commissoned by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia alone, but also by TAV S.p.A., a private company (although publicly owned, see here and here). It is one of the very few cases in which copyright on architectural works in Italy is actually enforced (see here), at least for commercial purposes, so these images really can't stay here on commons (they are proably acceptable for en.wiki and other fair-use projects). I've already left out the images in the category that IMHO fall under de minimis or show parts of the building which, by themselves, are below the high Italian ToO. --Friniate (talk) 18:22, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

Here is a summary of the issue with this deletion: this is a screenshot of Mary Poppins' original movie trailer. The current justification for eligibility applied to all the others screenshots of the same movie - which were uploaded in 2008 and have never been questioned since - is based on the assertion that « trailers older than 28 years are in the Public Domain because they were never separately copyrighted ».

If this licence is valid, this file should not be removed. Otherwise, the deletion must be applied to all the trailer's screenshots covered by the same licence, not only for Mary Poppins, but across the entire project. The project will also need to explain why this justification was accepted for so long before carrying out a thorough clean-up.

It should be noted however that US courts have often permitted the use of still images under fair use for film analyses or press articles – which is precisely in line with Wikipedia’s encyclopaedic purpose.  Comment I am equally confounded as to why all these Mary Poppins trailer screenshots were uploaded as {{PD-US-no notice}} when every contemporary trailer I can find seems to have a clear copyright notice at the end of the trailer. That being said, I can't seem to find File:Mary Poppins11.jpg in the trailers. Maybe there is an original trailer which actually did lack notice?
