İstanbul'da dolaştırılan kiremidi, kırmızı renk üzerine altın yaldızlı elvan nakışlı eski tahtırevanlardan sonra 19. yüzyılda yağlıboya ile boyanmış avrupa biçimi sedyeler (tahtırevan) görüldü. Tahtırevanlar numaralı ve tarifeye bağlı idi. Mesela Köprü'den Pangaltı'ya 20 kuruş alınırdı. Altıncı Daireye (Beyoğlu Belediyesi) çıkış ise tarifeye değil pazarlığa bağlı idi.
