There is no Freedom of Panorama in the Philippines. The hotel opened in 2010, so too recent to be out of architectural copyright. Assuming the architect remains unknown, it falls out of architectural copyright 50+1 years after 2010 (that is, January 1, 2061).

The sculpture was completed in 2009 by Arnaldo Pomodoro (1926–2025). There is no freedom of panorama in Italy. The copyright term of the country is 70 years, and the image can be undeleted in 2096

A1Cafel (talk) 13:24, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

For the two non-WLM photos, the Italian copyright on these photos would expire in 2030, since the artwork was commissioned by the Municipality of Tivoli (see here). Of course the US copyright is a different issue, and applying the URAA it could expire either in 2105 (since the copyright would be owned by the Municipality of Tivoli even in the US, that'd be my guess), or in 2096.--Friniate (talk) 16:50, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
By the way, @Pascal144 and @Terramargia of course you can download your photos on your PC now and then reupload them in September 2026 when the next edition of Wiki Loves Monuments will take place. Remember to add Template:Monumento italiano and Template:Cc-by-sa-4.0 with attribution to the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation and you shouldn't have problems with the copyright anymore. Friniate (talk) 17:09, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

File:2004 Tennessee 8th Election Results (color).svg

There's already a file for this (File:2004 Tennessee 8th Election Results.svg). Thomascampbell123 (talk) 18:07, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

  • Keep
This is a different version of that map. It follows the Wikipedia:WikiProject Elections and Referendums/USA legend colors color scheme that is mainly used in house races. The original map was not even put on Wikipedia and the color scheme does not match the future and previous races of that same district so it would look confusing if the other map was put on the page instead of this one. GatewayPolitics (talk) 18:18, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Keep perfectly fine to have multiple maps for the same election, as long as they are factual. If you prefer one to another, just use the one you prefer. Pretty much the same as having multiple photographs of a building. - Jmabel ! talk 18:24, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Note: there are plenty of maps for the same district that show how that district voted in different elections but use different color schemes. Two examples are File:2022 Wisconsin's 1st congressional district election results by county.svg vs. File:2024 WI-01 election results.svg, in which all counties are colored the same albeit with different color schemes, and File:2016 WA-09 Election by precinct.svg vs. File:WA9 House 2020.svg. If that is permissible then I don't see why it isn't permissible in this case. File:2004 Tennessee 8th Election Results.svg was also uploaded nearly ten months before this file so it would be the file that would be kept if one of them is deleted. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 18:36, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
The main reason is because the majority of other maps used for this specific District have a different color scheme. The old version uses a completely different one that is confusing if you are comparing elections and switching years. GatewayPolitics (talk) 18:37, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
That being said I don't mind the other color scheme it would just be pretty inconvenient to change the other districts to accommodate. GatewayPolitics (talk) 18:39, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
As I pointed out above there are two county maps and two precinct maps for the current version of WI-01 and two of them use one color scheme with the other two using another. If the old version of this map causes confusion then wouldn't it make sense to change the color schemes for two of the WI-01 maps to conform to the other two? @Jmabel Thomascampbell123 (talk) 18:41, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
The problem with that is even though you said there is no main consensus about colors, previous pages of the Tennessee house elections use the other color scheme. It would make more sense to keep that and make everything follow suit. GatewayPolitics (talk) 18:44, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Yes, that makes perfect sense and I actually proposed that for all U.S. House district and precinct maps on my talk page. However, @Jmabel said that there wasn't a consensus on that (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Thomascampbell123/Archive_1#House_maps). If this file is kept then I think that House maps for other states than just Tennessee should also use a consistent color scheme. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 18:52, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
I agree with you completely! I also am curious why we are using presidential colors for the main color scheme for every state. I agree definitely we need consistent colors that everybody agrees on. GatewayPolitics (talk) 18:54, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
I think that we are using presidential colors for the main color scheme for every state that has more than one U.S. House district to disambiguate the main maps from the district maps and because those elections are federal like presidential elections. However, I'm not certain that those are the reasons and someone else can probably better explain the reasoning for that. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 19:06, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

You are right, in some cases the main subject is not Asterix ... it is Obelix!
. On the serious side, these images are centered on a car containing copyrighted character. Removing them or blurring them, will render the images useless. Also, the files that are in use are used to illustrate characters from Asterix, and not are related to the Tour de France. These are an indication that the occurrence of these copyrighted characters don't fall under de minimis. Günther Frager (talk) 19:37, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
Any of these can be kept if blurred, but won't be terribly useful.
Keep the following as de minimis: Keep if the poster on the back of the car is blurred (I'm willing to perform the blurring if needed, please ask on my talk before deletion): Keep if all depictions of the characters on the cars are blurred as they show somewhat more (I'm willing to perform the blurring if needed, please ask on my talk before deletion): Delete the rest. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 06:44, 9 February 2026 (UTC)

File:Gustave Van de Woestyne - Portrait of a young woman in a landscape.jpg

This 1938 painting by Gustave Van de Woestyne (d. 1947) is public domain in Belgium (life+70) but not yet public domain in the U.S. due to COM:URAA; it will only enter U.S. public domain on January 1, 2034. --Jonatan Svensson Glad (talk) 22:23, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

File:Heilige Bernardus, Gustave Van de Woestyne, circa 1901 - 1947, Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen.jpg

This artwork by Gustave Van de Woestyne (d. 1947) was created sometime between circa 1901 and 1947 and acquired from the artist in 1938.

Although the work is public domain in Belgium under the life+70 rule (since 2018), it is still under copyright in the United States due to COM:URAA restoration.

As a work first published in 1938 (that we know of), it remains protected in the U.S. for 95 years and will enter the U.S. public domain on January 1, 2034. --Jonatan Svensson Glad (talk) 22:34, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

File:Gustave van de Woestyne - L'artiste à sa fenêtre - lithographie - Royal Library of Belgium - S.IV 96119.jpg

The file does may not meet U.S. public domain requirements under the URAA, even though it may be public domain in its source country. Key details:

  • Source country (presumed): Belgium
  • Publication date: Unknown (presumed prior to death, need to be assumed after 1930 unless other evidence is provided)
  • Artist/creator death year: 1947

The work is presumed public domain in the source country due to the author's death in 1947, but there is no evidence that it is public domain in the U.S.

Since the publication date is unknown and the artist died after 1930, the work was presumably still under copyright in the source country on 1 January 1996, meaning URAA restoration applies.

In the absence of a known publication date, we will assume it was published sometime prior to their death, and we’ll err on the side of caution and claim that U.S. copyright protection lasts for life + 95 years + 1 calendar year, making the work protected until 1 January 2043, unless someone can provide reliable evidence of a qualifying publication date, this work can’t be assumed to be free under U.S. law.

Also, {{Not-PD-US-URAA}} cannot be used for files uploaded after 1 March 2012. --Jonatan Svensson Glad (talk) 22:45, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

Delete per nomination. Note that {{Not-PD-US-URAA}} should only apply to images uploaded before the supreme court opinion in 2012 related to URAA retoration, and it is not per se a valid licensing tag, it is just for classification, see Commons:WikiProject Public Domain/URAA review.
