English: Introduction to Lexeme - Tutorial at LD4 by Mahir Morshed 2021

This session introduces the lexicographical data namespace on Wikidata. Topics include the sorts of information about words (lexemes) in a wide assortment of the world’s languages that can be recorded in the namespace and then linked to Wikidata items as well as other linked open databases of lexicographical information. We will introduce a number of tools that are able to significantly speed up the improvement of entities--be these entities lexemes, their inflections (forms), or their meanings (senses). Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with the modeling within this namespace of aspects of words in their own languages, including developing a lexeme from scratch, linking its meanings to the meanings of other lexemes, and evaluating the degree to which derivations and inflections of words might be separately representable from those words.
