Thanks for the work so far, I like the white-balance correction and the slight leveling of the image. The result looks more natural to me.

One small question: do you think it's possible to reduce some of the visible image noise, especially in the sky, without noticeably degrading fine details or introducing an over-processed look?

If a clean noise reduction is feasible, I'd be happy to see that version as well. If not, I'm perfectly satisfied with the current edit and the request can be marked as resolved.

As the original image's width wasn't a multiple of 16 (or 8 in the case of 4:4:4 or 4:1:1 chroma subsampling), losslessly mirroring it cropped it to the next smaller block boundary. JPEG being a lossy format, mirroring and reencoding the image would reduce image quality. A difference of 4 pixels over 1556 is insignificant. cmɢʟee ⋅τaʟκ 20:38, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

Hi. Does someone know, how to stitch? I tried several times with Hugin - Panorama editor. The result was always an optically distorted picture, although I chose 'straight'. The stitching itself is rather easy here, plenty of anchor points possible. But the sharpness of each is very uneven. Thanks in advance. @Pbrks this seems to how it is done properly. Thank you very, very much. The cropping all around is now obvious and very tight (the isle on the left and all the ships cut by the frame), that's a bummer. I hope, you didn't spend too much time on it, since I didn't know, if I use it at all. - Another thing: everytime I try to zoom in the viewer (on a tablet) the image crashes and loads again in the default size (which is very small). I will try it later on the desktop where I don't expect it to be a problem. But nevertheless it's somewhat curious. - I'll decide later, if I use it, and will report. Thanks, again. Wow, this looks right. You used the bottom frame line, really good, and on there is a bit more space all around, cool. Now the blurry parts are even more disappointing. I am thinking about reducing the size because of it, it's really huge now (that is probably why my tablet couldn't handle it). I am really grateful that you even tried again. Hello. Martin illustrated twenty magazine covers for Collier's. This suggestion for a cover was turned down. It may not seem like much, but it is unique and helps to back up the creative process, stated in a section of the illustrator's article. I uploaded the image a few years back, and never made any alternations except trying to darken the camera flash area. I don't know if anything can be done here. Is it possible to lighten the sheet without also lightening the words? Can the words be made darker and the sheet lighter? I was only able to decipher the text by blowing it up. @JimPercy, contrast enhanced as best I could (without really painstaking regional contrast adjustment by hand), but there is not a lot to work with.If it fits in your flatbed scanner, scan it and upload the TIFF as a new file.

Thanks. I likely will lighten it up some on my own to look more presentable. It's more important for the drawing to be clear than the writing.
