English: In Poland; Podłaz, Sad, Jutka, Wiecha. Upside down Christmas tree - in southern Poland small fir or spruce, hung down on Christmas Eve from the ceiling rafters in the prominent corner of the room. In the region of Rzeszów this was called wiecha or jutka and sad, in other regions of areas the names were different: podłaz, połaźnik. Podłaźnik or Sad is a Christmas decoration that pre-dated the imported German Christmas tree in Subcarpathian Region.
- In Serbia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Gagauzia. Полажајник, полазник (polažajnik, polaznik) is the first person who comes to the house on Christmas Day called.
