Apple's Safari browser natively supports playback of the audio and video codecs we use on Wikimedia Commons.

VLC media player
The free/open source VLC video player app may be installed on iOS through the App Store. VLC can play back our files if they are saved locally or opened in VLC using direct URLs, but these media are not yet conveniently played directly from Wikimedia sites.
