Description
Español: El Partenón (del griego Παρθενος Parthenos -Virgen-; uno de los adjetivos que servían de sobrenombre a Atenea) es el templo griego de orden dórico, situado en la Acrópolis de Atenas dedicado a Atenea Partenos. De mármol blanco del monte Pentélico, fue iniciado por Pericles y se desarrolló entre los años 447 y 432 a. C. Los arquitectos encargados de la obra fueron Ictino y Calícrates y estuvieron bajo las órdenes del famoso escultor ateniense Fidias.
