Dailymotion
The tool does not recognize Dailymotion videos.--TaronjaSatsuma (talk) 21:13, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
- @TaronjaSatsuma: Could you share any that you think are in scope? — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 22:36, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
- Now I'm away from my usual computer, but I'll share sepcific files. I'm interested on any file fitting Template:PD-ROC-registered TaronjaSatsuma (talk) 17:47, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
@Jeff G.: A good candidate fitting Template:PD-ROC-registered could be 10th September 1970's movie 警告逃妻.--TaronjaSatsuma (talk) 19:17, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- @TaronjaSatsuma: I tried and got "Error: An exception occurred: DownloadError: ERROR: [dailymotion] x9s7kji: No video formats found!; please report this issue on https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issues?q= , filling out the appropriate issue template. Confirm you are on the latest version using yt-dlp -U" — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 22:34, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
- IDK what version I'm on. I'm using web version. TaronjaSatsuma (talk) 10:24, 9 April 2026 (UTC)

- i just tried it on my laptop. stable@2026.03.17 can start downloading dailymotion.
- might need to wait for v2c to update its ytdlp. RoyZuo (talk) 15:45, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- v2c was most recently deployed on 11 june.
- i was able to start downloading https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9s7kji on my pc using stable@2026.06.09 .
- but v2c cannot as i just tested. :/ RoyZuo (talk) 14:42, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
- Odd. I can't promise I can work on this in the short term, but we're going to track this. yt-dlp has an extractor for Dailymotion, so it should work. Maybe video2commons isn't handling something right. See: https://github.com/toolforge/video2commons/issues/391 Amdrel (talk) 21:23, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

Got this error.--TaronjaSatsuma (talk) 14:30, 23 April 2026 (UTC)
- i got the UploadChunkFileException error just now too.
- not sure if it's due to the file being large. 3.8 gb mp4.
- but i just uploaded a 3.16 gb mp4 which v2c converted to 900 mb. RoyZuo (talk) 08:57, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

- The "Exitcode: 153" error message is caused by the converted output being too large for Commons. We can improve the error message for this so that it's not as confusing. As the error is right now it doesn't let the uploader know what's actually wrong with the video. Amdrel (talk) 00:05, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
NFS server maintenance
I'm swapping in a new Trixie-based NFS server. This will cause some service hiccups. I'll update this topic when finished. AndrewBogott (WMF) (talk) 18:54, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- I believe this to be done. This required a hard reboot of all encoding nodes. Please follow up here or via email if you find things to be broken -- otherwise you can delete the video-nfs-1 server at your leisure. Sorry for any inconvenience caused! It simply doesn't works
Error: An exception occurred: DownloadError: ERROR: [youtube] kKTqt8AhINs: The page needs to be reloaded.--TaronjaSatsuma (talk) 11:09, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- maybe https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issues/16212 . RoyZuo (talk) 12:07, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- I just verified that our encoders are on the latest version of yt-dlp and they were, but I did just cycle the cookies just now since I usually do that every Friday since they expire after ~1 week. With the new cookies I can initiate the download without that error. Amdrel (talk) 19:25, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- I have the same error here. – Illegitimate Barrister (talk • contribs), 06:10, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
Stuck in cancelled state
My Video2Commons job is stuck in “Aborted” for several days and won’t clear. Could someone remove it? The video in question is: The Mothering Heart (1913), Better Picture Quality It just keeps in the queue without dissapearing, and marked with red. Since it didn't dissapear, I uplaoded the same file again, with the same name and it worked but the old one just keeps buffering and marked with red. The Smart Star (talk) 10:37, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks, the problem was finally solved I don't know if anyone did anyhting, but thank you all! The Smart Star (talk) 00:44, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
Indefinitely loading?
Is the tool stuck at the "Loading" stage for anyone else? Appears it may be broken again... Sdkb talk 04:31, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Sdkb: For me, it took a while and one refresh, but I finally got:
- "Workers:
- Capacity: 7 / 10
- Worker Utilization: 70%
- Pending Tasks: 3
- Your tasks:" — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 04:59, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, seems like it's back up for me. (Yesterday it was down according to Isitdownrightnow, so I don't think it was just a me problem, but at least it was just a temporary problem.) Sdkb talk 14:35, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
