Archaeodontosaurus, Ikan Kekek, El Grafo, and Charles; you have all been very kind and helpful in showing how the VI and QI processes work (I'm nowhere near the FP level yet as you know) and giving me tips on taking better pictures. I know I have a lot to learn about photos. I do truly appreciate all your help. PumpkinSky talk 21:54, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

Your work in general

It's possible to keep looking at Wikipedia over some time and start to take it for granted, "oh look, another photo by Charles J Sharp" - but each time that I look more closely, as I did again today, I see how incredibly well done they all are, from a buffalo to a small butterfly, showing each one in great detail so that the person viewing your photo really sees exactly how its subject looks, as if you had convinced nature to keep perfectly still while we examine everything. Thank you! TooManyFingers (talk) 15:21, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

  • Thanks. I am lucky (for now) to have the time, health and money to travel a lot, though others use higher-end equipment than I use. Charlesjsharp (talk) 15:30, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

  • Yes, seconding this. I'm jealous that you get to travel around the world to such exotic places all the time, but also of your insane photography skills... the detail on this image, for example, is incredible. Thanks for your contributions to the project.   Amakuru (talk) 17:01, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
  • Thanks. Being 74 has many downsides, but hopefully I will get another few years to up my country-count... Charlesjsharp (talk) 17:59, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
