Das einschlägige Stichwort dazu ist de:Beiwerk. Das sehe ich hier nicht als gegeben an, da das Thema der Fotos (schon dem Dateinamen nach) eben die Ausstellung dieser Sammlung ist und die gezeigten Kunstwerke daher kein Beiwerk sind, sondern der Anlass für die Fotos.  Delete Per nomination. Die Schrankenbestimmung für unwesentliches Beiwerk ist hier bereits deshalb nicht anwendbar, weil es an einem "Hauptgegenstand" fehlt, im Verhältnis zu dem die Gemälde ein "Beiwerk" darstellten. Daneben wären die Gemälde jedenfalls auch erkennbar stil- oder stimmungsbildend für die beiden Fotos. That is a film still from an American movie trailer (so certainly published) which is not copyrighted in the US because of some required peculiarities in US copyright before 1978 (notice, registration, renewal). So it is an American work (and has nothing to do with the URAA, the URAA is about the copyright of foreign works in the US). --Rosenzweig τ 17:58, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

Personal history interpretation that is unused and unsuited for educational scope

In detail: The map shows (in anachronistic fashion) any "conquests, invasions and raids" that were ever conducted by any "muslims", probably between the 7th and 21st century. A main problem with the depiction is that no source for the claims is provided and that it only marks modern post-WW2 countries, not the historic areas that were supposedly subjugated or raided in their entirety. In fact, several of the claims are of a singular nature and totally lack nuance. Countries are seemingly randomly colored by three "muslim" ethnic groups.

  • Iceland was in its documented history only once visited by slave raiders in 1627, see en:Turkish Abductions. The map falsely marks Iceland as belonging to "Arabs".
  • Poland was only for a very short time a nominal "vassal" of the Ottoman Empire and paid tribute accordingly. It is, accordinlgy, marked as belonging to Turks?
  • Austria is marked falsely as belonging to "Arabs", despite the famous sieges of Vienna having been conducted by Turks.
  • The Balkan doesn't need to be overly disputed, although notably the same "Arabs" that raided Italy also raided Albanian and Greek coasts.
  • Finland and Czechia belong to the "Tatars", probably because of the Mongol overlords that only adopted Islam after the conquest of Russia? But then, why is Poland and Ukraine marked as belonging to exclusively to Turks?
  • The southern parts of Italy were raided by Arab-Maghreb invaders from the 8th to the 10th century, with coastal Sicily being under control of the Zirid dynasty for a while, which leads to Italy belonging to "Arabs"?
  • IF Germany is marked because of the same invasions in Italy (the HRE included both Germany and Italy), then one wonders why the Low Countries are completely unmarked, since they were also part of the HRE. Otherwise, what is the rationale of handing Germany to "Arabs" and not "Turks", who are one of the most prominent immigrant minorities today?
  • en:Fraxinetum launched a single expedition that reached St. Gall in 927, resulting in Switzerland belonging to "Arabs"?
  • Is Denmark marked because of 21st century terror attacks? If so, then why not paint the Belgium and the Netherlands?
  • When did "Arabs" invade the Vatican?

A map showing this topic urgently needs sources for all claims in the description: Years, whodunnit, and exact locations. For that reason, a complete and nuanced redesign would be desirable, for example to differentiate between areas that were full conquered, those that were temporary holdings and vassalages, and to pinpoint singular raids. A much better job needs to be done in naming the ethnicities that were the perpetrators. If modern immigration (20th and 21st c.) are to be shown, then a nuanced demographic map of religion is more suitable. Regards, --Enyavar (talk) 10:29, 2 January 2026 (UTC)

There is no commercial Freedom of Panorama in Rwanda, and these images infringe on architectural copyright under the restrictive Rwandan copyright law. Accordingly, commercial use is not allowed if there's no permission from the author. This 2016 building was authored by German architect Roland Dieterle. These nominated images depict the recent architectural work as main/intended subjects.

An image of a work that is still under copyright is a derivative work, and infringes on the copyright so that we cannot usually keep the image on Commons. In some countries, there is a special exception to the copyright law which allows such images under certain circumstances. We call that exception freedom of panorama (FOP). Unfortunately there is no applicable FOP exception in Rwanda.

Bei „ Eintragung Lutz Trümper in das Goldene Buch in der Johanniskirche 01.jpg“ ist das Kunstwerk nur Beiwerk im Hintergrund. Nur zwei Fenster sind angeschnitten. Bei „Magdeburg Johanniskirche 07.jpg“ ist nur schwer ein Kunstwerk auszumachen. Bei MDJohannisI.JPG sind die Fenster noch gar nicht eingebaut. Ganz im Hintergrund ist ein Glaskunstwerk zu erahnen. The two disputed photos of the windows from Maria Engelport Monastery were uploaded to Wikimedia Commons in 2013. One of them has been part of the Wikidia article ever since. No one has objected to the photos in the more than twelve years since. Moreover, the windows are not the main subject of the photos and should therefore be considered incidental. Furthermore, the design is not comparable to figurative representations or ornamentation. Requesting permission to use the images is difficult, if not impossible, as the artist's children, who would now be over 90 years old, or grandchildren cannot be located. @Etienne5962: Je suppose qu'il faudra supprimer ce fichier-ci parce que vous en avez demandé la suppression dans les sept jours suivant le versement, ce qui vous permet d'invoquer presque automatiquement la raison G7 prévue dans les critères de suppression rapide.
Toutefois, sur le fond de la question, le photographe est mort en 1944. En France, les droits d'auteur patrimoniaux sur ces photos sont donc expirés depuis 2015. Une autre chose serait le «droit d'exploitation» de vingt-cinq ans après la première publication d'oeuvres posthumes, mais ce droit de vingt-cinq ans ne s'applique que si les oeuvres ont été divulguées après l'expiration des droits d'auteur patrimoniaux. Or, même en faisant l'hypothèse que la photothèque puisse contenir des photos qui n'auraient jamais été divulguées avant le legs de 1989, ce legs divulguant les photos et l'établissement de la photothèque la même année datent d'avant l'expiration des droits d'auteur patrimoniaux.
Par ailleurs, les ayants droit pourraient invoquer que les photos pourraient ne pas être dans le domaine public aux États-Unis, pour un usage aux États-Unis. Cela dépend de l'année de leur première publication. Voir Commons:Hirtle chart. Les photos publiées, en France ou ailleurs, avant 1931 sont dans le domaine public aux États-Unis et elles peuvent être conservées sur Commons. Les photos par Augustin Boutique publiées seulement après 2002 sont aussi dans le domaine public aux États-Unis puisque le critère des 70 ans après la mort de l'auteur s'y applique. La difficulté aux États-Unis serait peut-être dans l'hypothèse de photos qui auraient été publiées pour la première fois entre 1931 et 2002. Mais je ne suis pas convaincu qu'il faille faire cette hypothèse la plus catastrophiste possible des subtilités du droit d'auteur étatsunien.
En tout cas, de nombreuses photos d'Augustin Boutique ont été publiées vers la fin du XIXe siècle, par exemple dans les livres 1, 2, 3, et comme on peut aussi le constater par des photos qui sont reproduites de telles publications parmi la soixantaine de photos d'Augustin Boutique présentes sur Commons. Le texte sur le site de la photothèque pourrait vaguement laisser supposer que certaines photos pourraient ne pas avoir été publiées avant de l'être par la ville de Douai à une date indéterminée après le legs de 1989, mais ce n'est pas clair. Peut-on généraliser une présomption de publication avant 1931 pour l'ensemble des photos dont les plaques se trouvent dans la collection de la photothèque ? Peut-être ou peut-être pas. Puisqu'il est démontré qu'Augustin Boutique avait l'habitude de publier ses photos, une telle présomption semblerait raisonnable.
Pour que Commons reste cohérent dans le traitement des photos d'Augustin Boutique qui proviennent du site de la photothèque, il serait souhaitable qu'une décision générale soit prise en ce qui concerne la conservation ou la suppression de ces photos, pas seulement des décisions séparées au sujet de quelques-unes. Si vous vouliez faire conserver vos fichiers sur Commons, il y aurait des chances que ce soit possible, dépendant du résultat d'une telle discussion. Il pourrait être opportun de contacter les responsables de la photothèque et de leur demander s'ils estiment que les photos sont libres ou pas et sinon sur quel fondement juridique exactement et sur quels faits. Cela permettrait peut-être de mieux évaluer la situation. Mais si vous craignez que la mairie de Douai vous crée des embêtements et que vous voulez faire supprimer vos fichiers versés moins de sept jours avant vos demandes de suppression, Commons procédera probablement à la suppression conformément à votre demande.
