Summary
| Description |
English: The figure shows the turbulent phase of a 2D ab initio kinetic simulation of the plasma in a collisionless accretion disk obtained with the OSIRIS Particle-in-Cell code. The color palette allows recognizing the typical multi-scale structure of plasmoids formed in turbulence. This turbulent regime was obtained self-consistently in the evolution of the plasma from a combination of parasitic kinetic instabilities that develops at an earlier time.
