Summary
| Description |
English: A recent study using our airborne data surveyed 116 glaciers in southern Alaska and found that this region lost about 75 billion tons of ice per year between 1994 and 2013. That’s about 30 percent of the amount of ice thought to be lost each year from the massive Greenland Ice Sheet. Details: go.nasa.gov/1IWhPt2
Scientists worldwide use our data to tackle some of the biggest questions about how our planet is changing and how it could change in the future. From rising sea levels to the changing availability of freshwater, we enable studies that unravel the complexities of our planet. #EarthRightNow |
