This pseudo-category is in fact a document explaining a technique to optimize and―in a sense―simplify SVG files. The files in this category merely constitute a collection of examples illustrating that technique. These hidden categories are only intended for Wikimedia contributors who want to add or optimize SVG files, but the documented techniques are in no way specific to Wikimedia. Besides being scalable, the images represented by the files in this category have nothing in common (only the files have historical implementation details in common).

Most of these documents are in a poor state, as of October 2024, and the effect of some of these so-called simplification techniques would be considered as complexification by most.

The SVG stroke-dasharray attribute can be used to draw dotted lines and much more. The example 5lines pg a.svg shows that it can fill an area.

An interesting possibility is the dash of length zero; see more at Dasharray.^{[clarification needed]}
When stroke-linecap is defined e.g. as round, the renderer generates objects in the distance of the gaps and in the size of the stroke-width, as shown in the three examples.

This logic allows to draw graphics like all the Braille letters or dice very easy.

Note: The renderer sometimes has difficulties when the path ends exactly at the position of a zero-length dash; therefore it is advised to make the path a bit longer.
The example SVGpathM03.svg explains it and shows different views depending on rendering size.
