i suggest for all the COUNTRIES we switch to {{Videos from country by year}} (thanks to User:Gone Postal 👍) and then delete them. because there're so many i'm not tagging them one by one or notifying creators.--RZuo (talk) 17:02, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- The thing is that some of them are not countries. Somebody has created "Moscow" and "Moscow Oblast". This can cause issues if we switch them. But I suppor switching in cases of countries. ℺ Gone Postal (〠 ✉ • ✍ ⏿) 17:07, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- Almelo, Breda, Leiden and Nijmegen are not countries, they are cities in the Netherlands. Eissink (talk) 12:14, 1 September 2020 (UTC).
- Couple of notes --
- The template you are suggesting moving to is part of the list of templates to delete;
- Some of them (such as United States and Malaysia and probably others) use a film-specific flag icon; should that possibility be preserved in the new per-country template?
- It probably should be possible to change the existing templates into calls into {{Videos from country by year}}; would that be better than outright deletion?

- I have an idea to write a module to replace the current design, then no parameter needs to be set. An optional flag icon can also be set automatically. But that'll happen after I find the time to learn lua...
