Summary

Description
English: Comic strip illustrating the Detour Theory. This psychological theory of human being's development says that any living organism needs to survive, and must adapt to its environment.

The child's evolution for adaptation to his environment is illustrated here by animals behaviors:

  • in the first case, the chicken sees the worm, tries to reach it through the fence, but fails. Because of that, thinking the worm is inaccessible, the chicken let it go.
  • in the second case, the monkey tries to reach a banana. It fails but a phase of retreat follows, then realize the possibility of going around the fence, and reach the fruit.
