The main Board Elections 2026 page says that one needs to have joined the group "on or before 15 September 2025", but the Candidates page says "members as of 1st November 2025". Are those trying to refer to the same thing? --PeterCooperJr (talk) 14:03, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

Eligibility Issues

Closing date?

The talk page message says voting closes at 23:59 UTC on the 7th, which is about seven hours away, but the voting server says "This election has finished, you can no longer vote". Harry Mitchell (talk) 16:48, 7 March 2026 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing this out, and apologies for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, we didn’t notice earlier that the SecurePoll election was configured to close at 11:59 on 7 March 2026 (UTC). When we double-checked after your message, we realized the discrepancy between the talk page notice and the voting server.

At this point the voting period has already ended in the SecurePoll system. Changing the closing time after an election has started would require a manual server-side change on Vote-Wiki, and because of the technical and procedural implications, we are not making any changes to the configuration or extending the voting period.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and again we sincerely apologize for the confusion caused by the incorrect time in the message.

@ZI Jony as this election doesn't really have any legal or financial ramifications, the confusion isn't too much of an issue but I hope it's something that those involved will learn from, especially if the aim is to incorporate the user group into a legal entity.
