There are 18 administrative regions in France, 13 of them in Europe (including the territorial collectivity of Corsica having the powers of a region and a departement), 2 overseas regions (each comprising a single overseas department), as well as 3 overseas unique territorial collectivities (having the powers of a region and a departement); the 18 regions are subdivided into 101 départements and 1 metropolis with specific status.
