It's been another month -- I will just share of an example of the files I am trying to update:

Use the updated design for File:Lion and Sun.svg on File:State flag of Iran (1933–1964, 3-2).svg

Or update File:Lion and Sun (wreath, sun face).svg to use the revised emblem design instead of needing to upload a separate file.

@Odysseus1479 thank you for your response.

The difference between the old 2012 version and the 2026 touch up that forms part of the IFP standardisation is very minimal. If seen from a screen at a one-metre distance, they are indistinguishable from one another. My contribution was just that, a touch up, and it should not constitute as a 'major change' under COM:OW. It does not qualify as a digital restoration either, as the original design was an abstract one never before used on flags.

This is also not the first time an update has been made to the flag on Wikimedia. Other users, such as Jooja, have made similarly minor tweaks over the years, and those changes were accepted without issue.

In addition, every other Iranian I have spoken to about this has said that they think the new version is an improvement over the old one, including several on Wikimedia. Even our Shah has seen it with his own eyes (though I would not expect a written statement from him on the matter).

Several of the relevant files on Commons already use the updated design, so I don't see any reason for why I can't be allowed to update the remaining files.

Things definitely have changed since TSC revoked it and went silent four months ago: the standardised design is used by numerous people around the world including Reza. @Earthdirt, you didn't care to read the note at the top of this page bcoz if you did, you wouldn't have written this request at the top of the section. Also, you used URLs instead of internal wikilinks. I had to make some fixes in your request (See Revision #1229435080). I think you probably need to work a bit more on Commons before getting autopatrol. In the meantime, you can request to overwrite files at COM:OWR. Hello, as discussed here and here (not in depth but there seem to be no objections), I would like the ability to overwrite some crusty old .djvus in use on fr.wikisource to replace them with better-quality scans. The only reason I want to overwrite rather than just upload separately is to maintain the exact URLs on fr.ws, so pages that already have content stay in the right spot. Asking for permission rather than for each file because there are almost 30 I have in mind to do eventually and then who knows. But if not broad permission yet, then the first one I wanted to do is to replace this file (words cut off in margins) with a version derived from this better scan from université lausanne/googlebooks. There is a major backlog in Category:Charts and Category:Example category with a need to sort the pages into more specific categories. AWB would be very useful due to the large amount of pages (almost 2,000 in first category). @Abzeronow ever since FM was revoked, Heylenny has made 25 RRs, all successful. But if we stick to understanding the scope of the Criterions, see the request at Revision #1220799382 (carried out at Revision #1220799465), it was made under FR2 (the same highlighted criterion). If you would ask me, it should've been made under FR3. The name wasn't meaningless or ambiguous but needed corrections for obvious errors. That said, I would still like to hear @Didym and @Grand-Duc. Well, for one, mixing up FR2 and FR3 is quite common. Normally, it would be within the responsibility of the filemover to correct such mistakes in rationales, but it doesn't do much harm when a basically valid renaming request is linked to a not-so-fitting rationale. A typical example. It turned out, the chapel is 50 meters behind the border, so it was labeled wrong and had to be renamed.

I tried to collect more with quarry but it times out for my user.

Thank you very much for this clarification. I initially did not know that this right was limited exclusively to Wikimedia Commons. I thought I could also use it on Wikipedia in order to prevent our newcomers from being reprimanded by other patrollers!

Nevertheless, as you may notice, copyright is very strict and severe in Togo, and we often do not have enough time to teach everything to newcomers before they start contributing. The consequence is that these newcomers face warnings and blocks that discourage them. Having this right would allow me to follow them closely.

I am not sure how this right will allow @you "to follow them closely" or protect them from warnings and blocks. Bcoz warnings and blocks are made only when there is an issue with the users contributions. All this right does is give users a button to mark other users edits as patrolled. Hello! I am a member of Wiki Advocates Philippines User Group. I would like to request Upload Wizard campaign editor rights to configure Upload Wizard to help our upcoming events under the Para po Project.
