Hello,
The previous image was a real photograph, but it did not depict a Toukenn from Trégor. In that sense, it was inaccurate and potentially misleading for readers.
I fully understand the reservations about using an AI-generated image. That said, simply removing it without offering a suitable replacement does not improve the article. A real but inaccurate image is not necessarily preferable to a clearly identified provisional illustration meant to show the general appearance of the Toukenn.
The best solution would naturally be to replace it with a freely licensed photograph of an authentic Toukenn from Trégor. Until such an image is available, I believe deletion without replacement does not serve the readership.

Yes, aforementioned historical event, dated 18 February 1960, and the author of the summary publications is the Foreign Broadcast Information Service (US government agency established in 1941, hence is "the work of an American official" )
I might be wrong with the choice of a proper license, so I referenced in the information header what was described as Public Domain, Google-digitized for this particular document on the https://babel.hathitrust.org/ website, so I directly submitted my question on their website about whether the license CC-BY-SA-4.0 can be used for it. Whenever I have more information from them, I can then correct accordingly.
Most interesting, the information we are talking about is about a piece of art, a model of an icebreaker, which has been gifted with The Letter (what this page , which you wish to delete, represents) and "President Eisenhower and members of the Soviet delegation agreed to publish this letter in the Soviet and American press" .
Let me directly quote it : "Soviet people are well aware, Mr. President, of your devotion to the idea of peaceful use of the atom. Specialists say that an atom looks better in mufti than in uniform. I therefore hope you will share our sincere desire that atomic craft should not only forge their way through the ice of seas and oceans for the benefit of convoys of civilian shipping, but that they should, with the same success, break the ice of the cold war of which all peoples are thoroughly tired. "Allow me to express the hope that this atomic craft will serve as a symbol of our mutual determination to use this greatest discovery of the human genius--atomic energy--entirely for the benefit of mankind."
If anybody is interested and lives nearby Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum they might see if it is on display there, I did not see it present in the online exhibits.
By the way this sculpture also features the event of April 12, 1961, when the Vostok 1 launch vehicle launched the first manned spacecraft with first legendary man Yuri Gagarin into space and orbited the Earth in 108 minutes.

@Romano1981 I have got the response from Connie Fleischer (HathiTrust User Support) : "This volume is in the public domain, but there are additional restrictions about reusing it because it was digitized by Google. Reuse of a few pages should be fine - Google is primarily concerned about bulk rehosting and bulk redistribution of books scanned by them. For more information, you can read our official statement here . We just ask that HathiTrust be attributed as the source of the digital images with the addition of "courtesy of HathiTrust" to the citation, and that links to the digital images be included where possible."

Several have been tagged for deletion by other users in the past, after which this uploader removed the tag. Uploader has been warned to not remove deletion tags from their own uploads, but removed that warning from their user talk page.

2. I take copyright very seriously but the behaviour of Jcb is disproportionate. He requests the deletion of all my files just because they are from me.
3. Yes, I removed a tag some months ago when I added further information to a file. In that time I had no experience yet and I didn't do it again as Jcb claims.
4. Yes, I remove content from my own discussion page when I noticed it. This is not forbidden.

 Procedural keep, a mixture of files with a mixture of deletion reasons. This mass DR contains logos, photographs, diagrams, and even audio files, and individually it is unclear why they should be deleted.
  • Most of the images are COM:INUSE, so they are automatically in scope even if they are "fake logos and album covers" as claimed by the nominator.
  • Unclear which logos are "derivatives of copyrighted logos" as many appears to be below COM:TOO.
  • Obviously the uploader removing speedy tags from images is problematic, but that is an issue for the AN/U thread, and shouldn't affect this DR discussion.

At best these are kind-of wordmarks extracted from album covers and the like, like File:Michael Jackson Invincible.png (though it's the wrong color). But these aren't really wordmarks. They don't exist outside of the context of the cover. So this isn't educational. At worst, it appears to be inaccurate, like File:Children of Dune.png. The logo on the box cover is chipped (most visible on the D and U), but here it's not.
All claimed as own work.

COM:FOP Latvia is helpful. Searching the internet there doesn't seem a case law example where any architecture firm tried to stop publication of FOP type shots of building works. So even substantial parts of incomplete buildings could be considered to fail the "permanently" part of the copyright legislation. Unfortunately it's hypothetical unless there are cases to compare with. For the modest number of these specific types of photos on Commons, I suggest not being in a rush to remove the ones which are obviously unfinished buildings, such as not having the windows in or final outer layers or panels. This fabrication is so obviously false that I don't even need real maps of the events to show that the AI is mistaken: It appears as if 1969 is so far in the past that we no longer have accurate maps of how the areas of the battles looked like, or why else would three maps of the same battleground show vastly different islands?

Je comprends la critique : ces images sont des cartes schématiques générées avec l’aide d’une IA, et elles ne doivent pas être considérées comme des cartes topographiques exactes. La géographie précise de l’île Zhenbao/Damanski n’est effectivement pas reproduite de manière parfaitement constante, ce qui constitue une limite réelle.
Cela dit, ces cartes n’ont pas été créées pour servir de relevés militaires exacts, mais comme supports de compréhension. Elles cherchent à représenter visuellement les grandes phases des affrontements de 1969 à partir des récits soviétiques, chinois et des synthèses historiques disponibles : embuscade du 2 mars, bataille du 15 mars, affaire du T-62, puis affrontement de Zhalanashkol.
Les cartes indiquent d’ailleurs qu’il s’agit de reconstitutions schématiques et de positions approximatives. Leur but est donc pédagogique : aider le lecteur à comprendre l’évolution générale des combats, et non fournir une cartographie définitive des lieux.
Je reconnais que ce type de contribution peut être amélioré, notamment en s’appuyant sur des cartes d’archives ou des plans plus fiables. Si vous avez accès à de meilleures sources cartographiques, je serais ravi de les consulter afin d’améliorer ou de remplacer ces visuels.
Je suis tout à fait ouvert aux corrections constructives. Mon intention n’était pas de présenter ces cartes comme une vérité absolue, mais de proposer un support visuel pour un sujet historique complexe et peu illustré.

You should try to use an actual topographic map (or a schematic map) of the locations of the war, and draw lines (by yourself!) on top of that one, again with the remarks that this is just a visualization aid. Despite the remarks your AI added, each map on its own looks like a detailed reproduction of actual terrain and troop placements.
On top, many editors are extremely critical of AI productions, and warn uploaders of trusting AI too much. I'm not fully on that side, but when it comes to history and maps, I tend to be very critical of content. Il est possible que la mention en français n’ait pas été immédiatement relevée ou que la nuance n’ait pas été suffisamment prise en compte. Wait a moment, I just checked File:Map-War-Sino-Soviet-2-mars-1969.png a bit closer than before. There is no description that it's a schematic map in the file description: Embuscade chinoise contre une patrouille soviétique, suivie d’une contre-attaque soviétique sur l’île de Zhenbao/Damanski. There is no notice in the file itself that it's a schematic map either; rather it says Les positions et mouvements sont réconstitués à partir de sources soviétiques et chinoises (implying that there is a great deal of accuracy in the map, instead of inaccuracy). Seen on its own, the map is quite obviously attempting to look like an exact topographic map of the real area.
en plus, the river that circles around the island like a maelstrom, cannot be bothered to decide in which direction it flows; one fat arrow points westwards, three faint arrows point eastwards. This is how the island looks, and the river flows to the north; the compass rose is just plain wrong showing the map facing north when it's rather facing east/southeast. The island is not even a kilometer wide and about two kilometers in length; but the map shows a chunky island 3km wide and almost 10 kilometers long. Next, the Chinese positions are seen as being fortified against their own side; and the Russians attacked these fortifications with Chinese weapons. There may be some aspects of the map that are showing the historical situation; but there is so much wrong with that single map, that I am more mortified than before about it ever being considered to be placed in a Wikipedia article.
Checking another one? File:Map-War-Sino-Soviet-17to21-mars-1969.png is worse in all respects, except that it actually claims to be a carte schématique, with the island being ~8x18 km which is approximately 100x the real size.  Keep or at least hold. I understand that US Copyright law for sound recordings (MMA) protects 1929 recordings until 2030. However, this is a highly significant historical recording ("Hallo Bandoeng") and is already in the Public Domain in its country of origin (Netherlands/Indonesia) since 2015. Tvpuppy, the Dutch equivalent is w:nl:Naburige rechten which last for 70 years from creation, so in the Netherlands those expired in 2000. That's still after 1996 for the COM:URAA cut-off, but I would assume the Naburige rechten weren't 70 years back in 1929 and I'm unsure how the extensions were implemented. It's possible the Naburige rechten did expire before 1996.

You are correct that the Dutch term had already expired before the URAA restoration date, and the later Dutch extension to 70 years only took effect in 2013, so I stuck the part about URAA above. However, that does not resolve the separate U.S. issue for pre-1972 sound recordings. Under the Music Modernization Act / CLASSICS Act, codified at 17 U.S.C. §1401, pre-1972 sound recordings receive federal protection in the U.S. regardless of whether URAA restored anything.
