There is no Freedom of Panorama in the Dominican Republic for post-March 2007 images. The CAFTA-DR-compliant amendments restricted FoP to "personal use" of images only. The description plaque implies it was unveiled in 2006. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contributions) 00:29, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

COM:PERSONAL COM:CB#Album covers -- Basile Morin (talk) 09:50, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Keep In use. Yann (talk) 09:21, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Comment The original file has been uploaded by an account globally locked and I think there's a kind of "intellectual / conceptual property" on this design, because it's a famous album cover. There might be a copyright owner. -- Basile Morin (talk) 09:41, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

@Yann: COM:CB#Album covers  Not OK Album covers (LP, CD, DVD, video cassettes, and so on) almost always carry copyright-protected designs, and photographs of them may not normally be uploaded to Commons. Physical ownership of an album merely licenses private broadcasts of the album's contents and does not transfer copyright ownership to the consumer. -- Basile Morin (talk) 09:50, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
A copyright for two hearts drawn with a pen? This looks farfetched to me. Yann (talk) 09:59, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
It's a complex combination made of a heart and another crossed-out heart, a specific text with address and phone number. The fact that the image is identifiable with only the text suggests an original creation. (Same as a short twitter messages, for example.) There is a deliberate arrangement of elements in space, certainly even a graphic research behind. The goal might be to create a visual impact, to inspire humour, special vibes or other feelings, matching the music. Very likely a minimalist creation based on a specific concept. (Like an advertisement.) -- Basile Morin (talk) 12:27, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
The photo doesn't show the album cover, but rather an address stamp that was used, much larger, for the album cover months later. The matchstick in the image is only meant to illustrate the size of the stamp impression. The album cover may be copyrighted, but the stamp impression certainly isn't. Havelbaude (talk) 16:31, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
Sorry for your upload but the album cover is 100% identical. And according to other creations commercialized by the same artists, the graphic designers seem to have carefully arranged all the visual elements to achieve this style. -- Basile Morin (talk) 09:20, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
See also  deleted File:Trio album tragegriff.jpg per Commons:Deletion requests/File:Trio album tragegriff.jpg -- Basile Morin (talk) 04:15, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

Info There are also derivatives of this design, suggesting the conceptual work of graphic designers. Moreover, it's a famous visual with a Wikipedia page. Imagine derivatives productions, like another album by someone else, commercialized, it's just the failure guaranteed in justice courts! -- Basile Morin (talk) 12:27, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

File:Monnaie - Plomb, Icosium (actuelle Alger), le IIᵉ siècle av. J.-C.png

Out of scope: this is an AI-generated image and looks completely different from the linked originals on Gallica. Omphalographer (talk) 02:35, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

I simply merged the two images (obverse and reverse) into one file. Where exactly is the AI in that? The images themselves come from the originals on Gallica; I only combined them so both sides appear in the same image. Kingdz16 (talk) 06:48, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
Is it possible that you linked to the wrong object on Gallica? The one I see at the link ("Monnaie : Plomb, Icosium, Maurétanie") is also a coin, but is shaped differently, is in much worse condition, and bears different images.
In any case - the metadata on this image file indicates that it was processed with ChatGPT. Please don't do that for historical images; it can sometimes make alterations to details. Use an image editor application to merge images instead. Omphalographer (talk) 06:58, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
So, to merge images I have to use a specific image editing application. Kingdz16 (talk) 09:41, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

No FoP for 2D works in Norway A1Cafel (talk) 04:45, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

(A work may be depicted when it is permanently placed in or near a public square or road or similar publicly accessible place. This does not apply, however, when the work is clearly the main subject and the reproduction is used commercially. <Google translate>). • Well, not much to say, except that many of these murals are public commissions deliberatly placed in public spaces and sometimes on public buildings, while others are unauthorised, placed there to be seen as part of the landscape. I am not sure that a policy "cover this breast which I cannot behold..." is still appropriate in this day and age. --Velvet (talk) 08:17, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
French intellectual property protects the moral and patrimonial rights of artists regardless if their works were commissioned by the state or were the product of vandalism, that is well documented in the link I provided in the DR rationale. The policy in Commons is to respect the local copyright laws and has nothing to do with covering breasts, penises or vaginas. Günther Frager (talk) 10:40, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
Of course, you're right, I was just joking. But I'll probably continue to download sometimes this kind of landscapes for posterity, long after their creators are gone.--Velvet (talk) 18:17, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

File:Actor Waheed Murad 1964.jpg

Bottom left watermark says this is AI generated content. In any case, even if this was published in 1964, it would only have expired in copyright in 2015 in Pakistan, thus it would have had its copyright extended in the US in 1996 per COM:URAA. – Howardcorn33 (💬) 21:38, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Keep. Hardly makes any difference since the actor died in 1983. Image has to be more than 50 years old.  Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-16068-53 (talk  contribs) 01:19, 14 March 2026 (UTC)

Please see COM:URAA. – Howardcorn33 (💬) 13:03, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
      • Strong Keep***. It is not AI. Just background blurred that's perfectly fine per COM:URAA.
Speedy keep the ones in use per COM:INUSE

Falsely claimed as 'own work' and uploaded at a poor resolution compared to the original; file originally sourced from Huddersfield Giants website. Hullian111 (talk) 21:56, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
