Deutsch: „Der Stadt Lohmar ist das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden. Das Wappen ist geteilt; oben in Silber (Weiß) mit einem halben doppelschwänzigen, blaugekrönten, -bewehrten und -bezungten roten Löwen; unten in Grün mit einer leicht gewellten silbernen (weißen) Deichsel.“ Der Löwe weist auf die frühere Zugehörigkeit zum Herzogtum Berg hin; die Deichsel bezieht sich auf den Zusammenfluss von Agger und Sülz.
English: „The upper part shows the lion of Berg, as the area belonged historically to the county of Berg. The lower part shows the merging of the Agger and Sülz rivers, near Lohmar.“
