I am requesting adminship on Wikimedia Commons to support the campaigns I organize, including Wiki Loves Monuments 2026 in Botswana and Wiki Loves Folklore 2026. These projects involve large-scale uploads, categorization, and contributor engagement, and admin tools will allow me to manage submissions more effectively, maintain project pages, and address technical issues promptly.
Examples of my work on Commons
- Coordinated uploads and categorization for Wiki Loves Folklore 2026 in Botswana.
- Established the Commons landing page for Wiki Loves Monuments Botswana 2026 – WikiVerse Botswana.
- Actively contributed to Wikimedia Commons through image uploads, category maintenance, and supporting new contributors.
Related experience on other Wikimedia wikis
- Founding Director of WikiVerse Botswana, leading community mobilization and partnerships.
- Organizer of Wikimedia campaigns including edit‑a‑thons and outreach events, engaging diverse participants.
- Active contributor across English Wikipedia, Setswana Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Meta‑Wiki, with experience in documentation, governance structures, and campaign coordination.
With adminship, I will be able to ensure smooth execution of Botswana’s campaigns, uphold content quality, and strengthen Commons as a hub for cultural documentation.

Oppose I'm afraid 700 contributions over just under 3 years (I think) is really nothing like enough.--Herby talk thyme 14:48, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
Oppose no need shown. --Krd 15:41, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
Oppose Not a valid reason for requesting adminship awww. Adminship is for janitorial work like COM:DR and anti-vandalism/spam/LTA, and the things you plan to do (manage submissions more effectively, maintain project pages, and address technical issues promptly) fall outside that scope. Strongest possible oppose admin tools are not for this purpose. I would go further and suggest someone to SNOW close this for the obvious reason. Shaan SenguptaTalk 17:12, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
Oppose Sorry but admin tools are not needed for the things you are doing. Captain-tucker (talk) 17:51, 21 June 2026 (UTC)

Oppose, Users should instead apply for Commons:Requests for rights#Event organizer. זיו「Ziv」 • For love letters and other notes 14:25, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
Oppose No activity outside of Wiki Loves campaigns. You don't need admin tools to manage these campaigns. Read: w:Principle of least privilege. Nemoralis (talk) 23:28, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
Weak support ""smooth execution""? oh yeah? we doing here hard execution without adminship. i believe our admins will be glad to help you. there is no time loss actually in projects. just do request and wait. and also, this is not positive vote. i just see this in good faith, you should at least get one positive vote. modern_primat ඞඞඞ ----TALK 07:38, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

- chapter "Related experience on other Wikimedia wikis"
- Text "Founding Director of WikiVerse Botswana, leading community mobilization and partnerships." Why is it a leading community mobilization? It's around 20 memebers in 2026 at least shown in the picture from this year. --~2026-36084-58 (talk) 16:12, 21 June 2026 (UTC
- @Mothusi Sekhomba - based on your nomination statement, it seems like you misunderstand the purpose of adminship. Seeing as this RFA has probably reached the point of COM:SNOW, my suggestion would be to withdraw and consider if you truly need admin tools for the work you're doing. I'd suggest reading over COM:A along with other guidelines and policies. Ternera (talk) 00:47, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
