This could be covered by COM:FOP#Brazil but multiple things need to be clarified: Where was this photographed? Is this in a public place? Is this artwork permanently exhibited at that location or is this just a temporary exhibit. And finally and most importantly Brazil law requires the artist to be identified. Also take into account that posters that are glued to the wall can't be removed without being destroyed, which arguably makes them a permanent display. Again, pinging @Rkieferbaum, as he has a more practical knowledge of the Brazilian copyright law. Darwin Ahoy! 17:26, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
 Keep 1. Virtually none of these posters are sufficiently original to attract copyright in the first place. 2. I am not aware of any court ruling in Brazil (and I have looked for one) holding that ephemeral works displayed in a public place for the whole of their existence fall outside FoP. The issue is small enough that I doubt a poster author will ever actually litigate it. In any case, the Brazilian decisions involving graffiti that end in favor of the artist usually do not reject the applicability of FoP as such; rather, they carve out an exception where there is a very direct commercial exploitation of the artwork. That goes to specific forms of use, not to the general existence of FoP. The same logic applies to architecture. If you isolate a building from its wider context and commercially exploit that isolated image, Brazilian courts may treat that as falling outside FoP. So what we take from current court rulings is that if we take the delete all posters logic ahead, we might as well delete all images with non-PD buildings in them. We have enough nudity/sexual images on Commons. I think those are obviously for personal exhibition purpose, out of scope

  •  Keep I may disagree with you. First, in the case of facial cumshots, Commons only have drawings and 3 photos of the same subject (same woman), it doesn't cover the homosexuality, as there wasn't any nor even a drawing showing a man with facial cumshot. Second, Savanna Lee photos that I uploaded doesn't include nudity and covers the school fetish category, which are very few photos there, once again it isn't realeated to nudity, so the nominator didn't spend time to look at them. Third, Second Life erotic art is art made in Second Life virtual world, which makes a difference because it's a specific topic (Category:Erotic scenes from Second Life). Four, also in Second Life erotic scenes, there were no examples of ladyboy/shemale images, so I added them to cover the topic. Five, there was only one photo showing a threesome fellation, so I added 2 more photos to universalize the topic. Six, also about Second Life erotic art, there were few or very little examples of sexual intercourse in that virtual world, so I added more to cover the topic. Seven, about handjobs, there were only close-ups, drawing and mannequins as example of the topic, but no photo explicity showing heterosexual or homosexual act, so I added one. Eight, there were no photo in Category:Upskirt that shown a pantyless women viewed from behind, so I added one., Nine, I don't have any connection with the subjects, I just found them searching at Flickr, so no personal exhibition purpose on my side. Ten, they all fall into scope as examples of topics, which it's needed to universalize but not unify (as just have only one example), and I tried to cover topics that weren't showing and cover details that matter, as heterosexuality and homosexuality. Besides these 10 points that Mr. Morning Sunshine didn't see, I see also other things that Morning Sunshine didn't do with this nomination:
    • Not assuming good faith, not even looking to photos that are not sexuality related;
    • Examing the photos before nominating, as all my uploads were included in a mass deletion without a rational criteria;
    • Possible attack or disrespect because the account is new;
    • Possible censorship from the nominator;
      •
    • Lack of knowledge, as the nominator may not know what are virtual worlds and also may not know what is erotic art by different mediums. (explained below)
Therefor, I think the nominator failed as an administrator too, as he was not an example of Commons policies, as per mentioned above, and also making me wonder what are really the nominators intentions (and if he ever read Commons:Project scope), which to me looks like reducing the number of sexuality related files, in which it sounds to me applying some censorship rather than cleaning examples. Summarizing, I was trying to cover topics that had few or none examples, as a person to contribute to Wikimedia Commons, but I found censorship. OK, I got it now. I may agree with you that they may been exhibiting theirselves, that's why I looked to several images, but they are few in the homosexual matter, and, the photos of facial cumshots, I tried to get an example of the sperm all over their face not just the mouth (both male and female). It is a delicate matter, I may agree with you in that. I just wanted to add examples that shown the cumshot fetish, to show explicitly (as no doubts they were) heterosexual/homosexual sex acts (the handjob), the school girl fetish with different clothes than they are in the category. If there are better examples that cover those, be my guest to delete them. I just wanted to cover topics with images that could add a different point of view or any kind of difference that matter to the topic.   •  Comment Since some administrators like to spam my talkpage and not participating in the deletion request by providing their opinion, I have a question to make. Since when File:Savanna Lee (14373243855).jpg and other examples at Category:High-heeled shoes on legs are related to Commons:Nudity? Are we going back in time to the times where showing knees were forbided? The images I uploaded about Savanna Lee are images of a dressed woman, no nudity can be found. She is dressed with a miniskirt (Category:Miniskirts), a shirt and something on top, so I don't see any nudity. If it is, then File:Clara Morgane 1.jpg is about nudity too, which I think it's not right and possible a censorship act (which can be seen as an abuse of authority/rights). That's what I like, I love people that go straight to the point. About your question, I only know what everyone can see looking at the flickr stream. The photos there are about the same subject (presumely the flickr user, which has been tagged in the majority of photos) in different kind of poses and in different kinds of clothes. I can presume that the subject have consented permission, but I can't be sure of that, as well as the majority of photos at flickr. I do accept if the images are deleted because of that uncertainty, which would be a rational reason. But, if so, do not only focus on newcomers or only new uploads, there are several already existing photos in worse situations. About the notability as I read on the provided link, in the Category:Schoolgirl fetish I see more "known" people (pornstars) than unknown people, so I see an unbalanced weight there, in my opinion. For example, Category:Files from Lies Thru a Lens Flickr stream, did the flickr user provided an evidence of permission of the models, since they are several models and some of them in nude poses? --ESRR (talk) 20:48, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

I have nothing against sex or nudity on commons, but these should be deleted.

Under Commons:F10, these files were uploaded from Flickr by a user who has no constructive global contributions. The Flickr accounts of many of these also seems to have been taken down since. As someone mentioned above in the previous deletion request, ESRR (or anyone else for that matter) has made no attempt to use these images for anything. It's been over a decade now. It could be argued that these images are out of scope.

It is also unclear if all of the assets in the images were free to use, in Template:Second Life it says that "all intellectual properties of an object in Second Life belong to the subscriber who created it" and there's no indication on the Flickr accounts that remain that they have full permission from every world and asset creator to release those images under those licenses. Depends on how you look at it: I see it as a quite intrusive (political?) campaign image, and given the low image resolution it has not much educational value anyway. Reason I tag more of these pictures as F10 is that some admins have suggested to tag similar pictures as F10, to speed up the deletion process instead of having to close each individual DR. Files in Category:Gandhi Hospital (Tehran) fire

The images may be under free licensing, but the building itself is not. The hospital started operations in 2008, likely after its completion. This means it is still under the architectural copyright. Wikimedia Commons cannot host these images because there is no Freedom of Panorama in Iran permitting commercial uses of public art and buildings without permissions from their artists or designers. Using COM:Iran#General rules and assuming the architect/s are unknown, copyright lasts "for a period of 30 years from the date of publication or public presentation." (In this case, the public presentation of this work of architecture, in 2008). Nominated images show the majority part of the building with recognizable design despite fire damage.

Same case as Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Gandhi Hospital (Tehran) fire. The building is unlikely under free licensing by its architect or designers. The building was completed in 2008, so too recent to be out of architect's copyright.

Nominated images show the non-incidental appearances of parts of the exteriors with still-recognizable building designs despite the damage brought by the ongoing war (just like Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Rocket strike on Kharkiv Regional State Administration, 1 March 2022 with regards to a Kharkiv building damaged by the 2022 Russo-Ukrainian war).

The image is useful as an illustration of how common modern digital art looks like – specifically or especially the kind popular on artstation and reddit. Additionally, it can illustrate how good quality images made with AI can be. Anything generated by AI could be "an illustration of how [sic] common modern digital art looks like". If that is a defense, all such images would be in scope. You did not understand what I was saying. I was not saying there this is an illustration of AI art; I was saying it shows how nonAI art highly upvoted and frequently posted on sites artstation and subreddits look like and are like.
And re my second point, some good quality AI art images are useful; maybe delete some of the tens of thousands of the millions of files that truly are not useful instead and in any case it's better to first think about what the argument is and to then address them instead of just criticizing them in such a way. There is no need for you to read and participate in these discussions. I'm also getting slightly tired of being not respected as a volunteer contributor as well as the constant unnecessary time-wasting barrage of DRs for useful files. Edit: latest example: multiple files of some blurry unidentifyable lights not useful as an illustration for anything and with 0 cases being made for why to keep it, File:Abstract lights (17791510968).png. I am making 3 points why this is useful, not just saying 'invalid nomination'. Unlike the other photos uploaded by thus user, which are educational or at least marginally well-shot and artistic, these are low quality, unremarkable in subject and execution, and clearly fail COM:PORN. The only reason I can see for keeping them is to compare them to the others to show how obvious exhibitionism can unintentionally produce striking images.

(Admittedly, this was in the brief moment when AI art was novel, before we started drowning in undisclosed slop; it was appreciated by most recipients at the time, but I haven't repeated the exercise since.) Because I didn't know who might be in the southern hemisphere, I included the line Note: The vibes are winter solsticey. If you're in the southern hemisphere, oops, apologies., linking to this image, as part of each card, e.g. at 1. The set was kept at Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Sdkb given that efforts to improve editor retention through things like greeting cards are considered within scope, and I'd argue that this should likewise be kept as part of the set and as necessary for the link in each card to make sense.     Regarding "never were truly in scope", you're always free to disagree with the consensus. Regarding the physical cards analogy, we archive old talk pages as part of our default of transparency/maintaining the historical record. Deleting this would not free up any server space the way throwing out a physical postcard would (because we keep copies of deleted images); all it would do would break some links and damage the record of one of the more prominent early examples of AI image use on Wikipedia. The nonsensicality was sorta the point — when encountered in context (i.e. someone who received a snowy version and clicked through) it was a joke on the fact that a snowy Wikipedia globe makes no sense in the summertime being experienced in December in the Southern Hemisphere. It's less funny out of context, but we don't delete userspace activity just because we don't like it. COM:INUSE states the uploading of small numbers of images for use on a personal user page of Commons or another project is allowed as long as that user is or was an active participant on that project, and this falls under that. Yes, technically it was linked from each card rather than transcluded, but arguing that it's not in use because of that would be wikilawyering given that the clear spirit of the rule is that such uses are permitted. @Adtonko: I'm not seeing that for a favicon, I'm seeing (at various dates) the one at https://web.archive.org/web/20170602014909/https://minminas.gov.co/favicon.ico. Can you give a URL for where you see this as a favicon?
Also, yes I do see near the upper left of https://web.archive.org/web/20170128193503/https://www.minminas.gov.co/ (left of the name "MINMINAS") something that somewhat resembles this coat of arms. It's so small that it is hard to be confident of the degree of resemblance. Adtonko has demonstrated that something like this was sometimes used, on a tiny scale in a favicon with no legible text. I agree that despite low legibility it is reasonable to assume that the figure in the favicon is the national coat of arms of Colombia. I'm not at all sure that use in a favicon justifies the presence of over a dozen similar SVGs with different text and different colors in the circular border. At the very least, if they are to be kept without further evidence of real-world use, each should carry a note about the limited evidence of this having had even de facto use by the Colombian government. - Jmabel ! talk 19:59, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

Absurd. Clearly, you haven't compared the style of this wood engraving (on paper yellowed by time with brown stains) with that of other similar engravings , also taken from the Mariani album and sold individually on eBay.
Moreover, that same site currently sells an engraving reproducing the portrait in question, as well as the drawing created specifically by Louis Tinayre for the Mariani album (volume 7, 1902) . This drawing also appears separately on a old postcard. --Guise (talk) 13:53, 12 April 2026 (UTC)

According to the Wikipedia article for Joe Minter, the sculpture began construction "the late 1980s and [was] built over the course of thirty years", and the date given for the files are March 2000. I'm extremely concerned about this practice which replaces original works of art with depictions that contain details not present in the original. This is deceptive and contrary to the goals of Wikimedia. There may be some use cases (where these images can be used in discussions of AI upscaling, for example), so maybe outright deletion of all of them isn't appropriate. For example, when viewed at full resolution, File:Dürers Charles the Great upscayl 8x upscayl-standard-4x.png has blocky artifacts where the level of detail, or the type of inferred brushstrokes, changes abruptly (presumably because each block was upscaled independently and stitched together). At least the "consensual" argument is moot. It's a long-standing, widely accepted and sensible practice to assume consent when a person depicted is clearly posing to have their picture taken, see Commons:Photographs of identifiable people#Evidence of consent.
Furthermore, a Google reverse search brings up https://www.elitebabes.com/model/martisha/ - it's a photosite for erotic models, by the look of it. There, it's stated that the model was born in 1990. This alleviates the "being a minor" concern too.
BUT - there's an issue: https://www.elitebabes.com/pin/martisha-in-domai-set-perfectly-shaped-girl-at-the-lake-2/ You can see a complete set with the same model and scenery, not only one still, so it's not totally excluded that the Flickr user committed FLICKRWASHING. Our upload is a mirrored version. But the Flickr account is dead.
I tried to examine the case through the Internet Archive, but the image was tagged R-18, so obviously not archived; and I saw a notice that the user had retired from Flickr by June 2013.
I don't know what should prevail: SCOPE, Flickrreview and upload chronology to allow a keeping or COM:PRP and some circumstancial hints at COM:FLICKRWASHING, resulting in a deletion? Regards, Grand-Duc (talk) 00:30, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

The author is unknown. In Russia, works of unknown authorship are copyrighted for 70 years from the date of publication. The first publication of this photograph, as far as I can determine, was in the CD version of the encyclopedic reference book "Тверская область (Tver Oblast)", published in 2001 (see description here). The contents of this version were later presented on the website of the Tver Regional Scientific Library (see here). No previous publications have been found; it is likely that the photograph was stored in an archive inaccessible to the public until 2001.   • I inquired Tver Regional Scientific Library about the origin of the photograph from the online version of the encyclopedic reference book "Tver Oblast" and received a link to the book Калининская областная организация КПСС в документах и фотографиях. 1880-е - 1987 гг. - Москва: Московский рабочий. Калининское отделение, 1989. - ISBN 5-239-00501-X. The photograph was published in the book (on page 147) without attribution or source. The book's preface (on page 5) states that it was compiled using photographs from periodicals and local history publications, as well as newly published photographs from several archives. This could be covered by COM:FOP#Brazil but multiple things need to be clarified: Where was this photographed? Is this in a public place? Is this artwork permanently exhibited at that location or is this just a temporary exhibit. And finally and most importantly Brazil law requires the artist to be identified.  Keep 1. Virtually none of these posters are sufficiently original to attract copyright in the first place. 2. I am not aware of any court ruling in Brazil (and I have looked for one) holding that ephemeral works displayed in a public place for the whole of their existence fall outside FoP. The issue is small enough that I doubt a poster author will ever actually litigate it. In any case, the Brazilian decisions involving graffiti that end in favor of the artist usually do not reject the applicability of FoP as such; rather, they carve out an exception where there is a very direct commercial exploitation of the artwork. That goes to specific forms of use, not to the general existence of FoP. The same logic applies to architecture. If you isolate a building from its wider context and commercially exploit that isolated image, Brazilian courts may treat that as falling outside FoP. So what we take from current court rulings is that if we take the delete all posters logic ahead, we might as well delete all images with non-PD buildings in them.
